Colorado has had legal weed for years and there's a truly amazing variety of strains available. I think the widespread availability of clones improves choices and variety.
And the relative importance of grower skill in creating a top quality product has never changed. It's just becoming a lot easier for the consumer to tell mediocre product from the good stuff and make their choice.
I'm interested in how you're using nutes and non photoperiod based techniques to affect the beheading and generational cycles of 'auto'flowers. I'm going to reread this thread, what should I be looking for?
did give u credit for that .....respect
well the first thing u should look at is the hydro exp that went nutz ......it was 55 days of growth i had to change the feed out completely and go to a 12 12 timing for a few days to make it flip
the only thing that caused that was the feed supply .......i messed up and did the wrong plan resulting in way to much feed in there given the plant what it needed in amounts that it never seen
this is also in my super soil experiments .........before i posted this simplified one i had a much stronger bigger set going .......the batch was mixed up on the cream of the crop auto strains (narcothreapy and cash crop) .......my last nacro that ran off that batch came out thick and hairy tested only at 19.66% but the weight is there (even with lighting tricks i was unable to push gland heads
your using your head and thinking .........the thing i have not told ppl about my experiments once they add in light tricks i know they can increase the oil to plant matter raito getting a better return
oz of sugar trim does me 3.7 grams of oil (rough math 14 to 15 % returns and if u done oil u know that is getting near epic 20% return lvls)
this is about 2 years old .....i picked it up when i was reading i forget what subject i found it under but i will try to repeat the best i can
plants under goes 9 stages of life (all plants)
1 seed
2 seedling sprout
3 early growth
4 late growth
5 trans fliping to flower
6 early flower
7 mid flower or bulking
8 late flowering or riping or seeding
9 death or harvest
now with a auto flower being on a shorter cycle something has to be triggering......the hydro found it (feed and water variables) i had to force it to move along in theory it would be possible to keep it going in late growth if i keep the lvls increases so we never a hick up
as long as the auto flower plant has access to water and feed it will keep growing until something in the environment changes to trigger the response (as i keep my area with in 20 degree flux RH under 65% and IR temps controlled with fans i had no triggers other then feed) ......any indoor grower has this set up it is the whole idea ....in the wild the plant would grow and get as much rooting area as it could once it would notice a change in what it had offered to it then it would change over auto flipping keeping genetics alive
then it just becomes a learning curve as u do auto plants u learn to read them (like photo plants but it shows up much faster) ...so by reading them u tweak the feed to keep them where u want too
this is what i been doing i made plants rated for 45 grams grow me 6 oz .........it is just matter of over feeding the plant they love it but not over feeding it to stress it or make the smoke bad
what i told the ppl here will let them do the same thing as me but in a faster time frame they will not make the same mistakes as i did with weaker soils or feeds ........odds are maybe a few ppl will fallow the plan to letter but the most will pull it together see something in the strain and do better then expected
also by doing this i know some of the terepene counts in Auto flowers are just way to small to call it medical weed .......i made plants run double the natural life cycle but the medical grade terepenes never increase into photo lvls ( thc and cbds and smell taste terepenes are same across board just not the medical ones)
