Hey guys and gals,
So I have been growing out a single gifted AUH1 fem seed for quite some time now. It was gifted straight from a breeder pack from a close friend. This is my first real (non cfl / bagseed) grow, and I've definitely made a few mistakes, but I'm sitting right at 8 weeks of flower and Im thinking its on track to finish around 80 days. I'll try to get some pics up later this week to show the INTENSE trich production on the calyxes (not so much on the tips of the bud leaves though...but from what Im told this is fairly normal for pure-ish sativas.)

I must say, I have read through a few grow journals with this strain and I was very afraid that I was gonna end up with 2 oz of fluffy schwag after putting a solid 3 months into the grow like a few other unlucky souls out there did. However, I am very pleased with the grow thus far. Perhaps I just got lucky and got a Canabis cup worthy pheno, but I just cant believe that people have struggled so much with this strain. I am yet to find anyone who has had a good experiance growing this, and I just wanted everyone to know that, while there does seem to be some serious phenotypic diversity, the good pheno's are pretty bomb...

Also, I have a few comments on the genetics of AUH1. Franco let it slip in a youtube video (YouTube - Growing with the Stars - Arjan right around the 4:25 mark) that AUH1 is actually a Super Silver Haze / Nevilles haze cross. Thats a pretty intense genotype right there! The SSH influence definately comes across in the yield and bud formation.

Anywho, I just wanted everyone who is considering growing this strain to know that there are ppl out there having really good experiances with it too ( and not even very experianced growers either!) Like I said, I'll get some budporn up here in a few days. Until then.... :blsmoke:

and oh man, I don't know about nevilles but super silver puts me down for the count!!

I will give you my honest opinion on these seeds. They are a waste of your time and money. Period. If you want something with Haze in it that you can actually grow, look for something from Mr. Nice. GH are hustlers and pushers in the in the truest sense. They lure through their doors with promises of great weed and great yields. All they really want is your money. I spent 90+ dollars on AJH1 (fem) 5 pack. I would rather have arjan wipe his ass with the profit than spend it on advertising. But I am willing to bet that is not the case. The seeds were the worst thing I ever have spent money on. Ever. You will get better weed from Nirvana (any of the strains they have) than anything GH has in their lineup. And a lot cheaper too. It was grown under a 400 hps. I got 1/4 ounce of hay after 120 days of (yes thats 4 months) of 10/14. 10 on 14 off.

Well perhaps thats your problem right there, why would you flower with that cycle? 10 on and 14 off? You were wasting 3 hours of growing potential. Per day. I dunno, maybe you should look at your growing technique bud, I think they've (GHS) won a few high times awards among others but you could have just recieved a bung batch too. As well as paying $90 for 5 fem seeds, that seems steep.

The cannibus cups dont lie my friend. Arjans buds are dank. Earlys problem was deffinatly the 10/14. He was a little Early turning off his lights lol

oye. Sorry for the wait guys... My GF's bogardin' the digicam... My AUH1 should be done in 2 weeks and I want to get atleast one fuck'n pic of her before chop so you guys can see... If nothing else I will have some dried/cured budshots. I didnt anticipate not being able to use my camera guys...sorry bout that. But I promise if nothing else I'll get shots of the cured nugs...

Yeah, I've never heard of that lighting schedule early... that could be your prob...

Even from seed 4 months is a ridiculously long time. Sorry these beans didn't work out for ya man. Yeah greenhouse sucks and likely did some sheisty stuff to get the cannabis cup, but both neville's and SSH were developed by shanti when he was still at greenhouse if Im not mistaken (anyone verify this?), so you basically are getting mr. nice genetics, just from a crooked businessman named arjan instead of a medicine man named shanti. Also, docchronic has the 5 fem pack for 50 USD. You might have gotten ripped my friend. :(


Buds are really starting to fill out over here though. The tall skinny buds that shoot off the main cola are really starting to look helarious. It looks like the buds have dreds or something. Its awesome. It looks alot more like a fat neville's haze than it did a week or 2 ago when I last posted.


Also, some grow info:
All organics from seed
alfalfs tea with molasses for veg
jamacian guano and molasses for flower.
Soil enriched with local worm castings like fuck (like a 1/2 and 1/2 soil/casting mix before adding perilite)

I did manage to burn her early in flower with too much guano (never done the organic thing before) but even still shees lookin good...

So I got her to let me borrow my own camera for a minute... :p Wish I had a better camera... It dosent do macro's so well. I just wish the calyxes would have come out better. Its a sticky mess in there yall...

...So I did a quick dry on some popcorn bud. Let me just say this: Its 4:30 now and I've been high as a goddam kite for like 2 hours. This gear is serious guys. Cerebral as hell. Taste wise, I cant really say because the bud was dried in a microwave. :P

The smell was very floral, sweet, yet woody. Definitely some cedar tones, but also like a sweet, citrus smell.

Trich's on this sample were about 90% cloudy and 10% clear. Its maturing a little slower than I thought it would, so it may end up needing another week or even two into march. Only time will tell I guess! Im not worried about the long bloom, as I've got the better part of an eighth of some organic NYC deeznutz to get me through till harvest and some beasters in the "last resort jar". But Im pumped on this one guys... whew.

This strain seems like a dank amsterdam strain but the 14-16 week flowering time turns me away. 16 weeks plus the 3 months it takes to germ and veg.. i donno

Yeah its definitely been a test of patience for me man.

I mean, Yes its dank. Yes is smells like fuckin heaven and will probably taste similarly with any decent cure. But is it worth the wait? Only if the yields are proportionate with the time invested. And I must say, they really are.

Granted, I have a VERY spatially limited grow area and this is a ~80% sativa. I flowered at the 5th internode and lst'ed like crazy and keep my 200w HPS within 8 in of the canopy at all times. The resulting plant is about a foot tall. Considering that, it looks like I'll pull the better part of two oz off this tiny little guy. I am seriously amazed at the weight this thing is packing on. And while it might not be maturing as quickly as I was initially hoping it would, its growing at a steady and alarming rate. So long as it keeps up this vigor, I have absolutely no problem lettting it go for 13 or 14 weeks instead of twelve. That could be the difference between 1.5oz and 3! (no exaggeration) if it continues to build up the bud structure of the awesome tall, skinny "dred buds" that I alluded to before.

So yeah. Dont be too terribly put off by the long bloom man. I mean, I literally have never had such a heady high as I did off that little popcorn bud yesterday. Insanity.

I'll try to get another pic up so you guys can see this thing's vigorous growth since last time.

i found AUH1 to be excellent overall. this is a classic sativa: the flower period is long, prolly 14 weeks on average for full development. those flowers just seem to last forever. . overpowering psychedelic high. very strong too.

i grew 3 seeds out of a pack of 5, i paid $60 for them. this was my 6th grow, first with feminized seeds. indoor 400W HPS in dirt. 2.5 weeks germ+veg on 18/6, then flowering on 12.5/11.5 schedule. they were 14-16" tall when i went to flower and ended 5.5 feet tall on avg. had a small spider mite problem but killed those buggers fast with spectracide (wow works great). 1 plant produced a 6 oz in 12 week flower, 2nd plant produced 3 oz in 15 weeks, and the third only 1 oz in 10 weeks. there was something wrong with the 3rd i never figgered it out. maybe it was the spiders, but im pretty sure it was dna. but the yield on the first plant was so plentiful it more than made up for it. this plant had 7 or 8 colas over a 1 foot tall. what a monster! no question, the most inconsistent seeds ive ever had, but this was my first with fem seeds, so maybe this is typical. dunno.

somebody talked about 10on/14off flowering... u wont grow anything doing that. maybe go to a 10 hour on the last week or so, but u should do a 12/12 or 13/11 for the duration of flowering. also somebody talked about 3 mos. to germ+veg??? gee whiz i did that in 2 1/2 weeks!

Just got my AUH#1 seeds the other day, this thread is a bit of a relief. I got sucked into this strain by its CC win and youtube videos, then have been reading nothing but mediocre things since (15 weeks flowering for fluffy nugs, lots of undesireable phenos, etc.). I'm glad to hear of some positive experiences, and no offence buddy, but you're not gonna grow shit with that crazy lighting, not to say we shouldnt be making progress, but sometimes you gotta stick to what works.

auh1 is a huge favorite around here. i know this is one strangers opinion, but there is nothing that comes close to it. it has an obscene amount of thc, like 20%, and almost no cannaboids so its a psychedlic high that hits hard and lasts a long time. shoot, why do you think it won all of those awards!! :-D

but growing it is another story bro. its all sativa and a royal pain in the ass. :wall: its lanky and needs a lot of space and thus a powerful light, nothing less than a 400hps. i found i can train the plants by tying down the top branch and forcing internodal buds and lower branches to develop. kinda the way we grow tomatoes. this also is a good way to control its height. and the flowering period, like 15 weeks or so? i mean, there is so much time for things to go wrong. and be prepared for those damn spider mites. :cuss:

methinks a lot of noobie and impatient growers have problems with this plant, and maybe thats why this get the bad publicity. prolly a lot of underlighting and early harvesting, just a guess.

A toughie eh? Well i'm always up for a challenge, I imagine i'll be lst-ing it under my 1000hps so hopefully i can control height and get the most of her. I'm pretty sure my house has some sort of blessing on it as i have an active dog who goes into the grow room but i've never had any insect problems. not saying im home free, just appreciating my luck.
do you find there are alot of diffenernt phenos?
