Mass Shooting at Florida Gay Club

I'll never understand it. Do you? Do you pick and choose what to understand? I mean it's god's word and all that. There is stuff about stoning to death an unfaithful wife. That's what Christians want, right?
No. Well maybe in some denominations. I was raised baptist. Pretty level headed people. They mainly use the teachings of the new testament. Words are preached from the old testament but not the violence.

I'm a christian and believe in god. I also believe in science and dinosaurs and what not.

Not all of us fit in a box.

I will agree though, for the most part I can't stand Christians. I don't subscribe to organized religion.

It is a weapon of war. The AR-15 Assault Rifle was designed to kill people.
I thought all guns were designed to kill?

At one point all weapons were weapons of war.

A law abiding citizen should be able to own an ar-15.

As I have said both sides agree the ownership of guns is OK. We have just drawn two different lines on what can be owned.

How do you account for the fact that fully automatic weapons and silencers have always been legal?

Laws don't work.

How many laws did this guy break? One suicide by cop, 49 murder . Hundreds of wanton endangerment. Etc, etc.

How would one more law of not being able to not buy an ar-15 stopped this?

He was determined to do it. A pistol with a small bag of ten round clips could've done the same damage.

The truth is long guns and in particular, "assault" weapons are not a problem.

Oh, I can't have an ar that is responsible for a handful of deaths in the last decade but I can own a pistol that is responsible for thousands of deaths every year?

Really?

Come on. No such thing as an assault weapon.

How's it designed to kill people? I can kill deer with it. I can also take out a cop at a few hundred yards with a bolt action .308.

Only type of guns that are really only good for killing humans are smaller caliber pistols especially a snub nose .38 special.
You ain't killing
If someone needs an AR~15 to hunt, they suck @ hunting.
wild hogs run in packs of up to 20 and weigh 300 pounds, they are aggressive and come after people. Colorado has mountain lions. I wouldn't be blowing a rape whistle for protection.

I knew StonedPony. He was a really good guy. He had a good heart and was a funny bastard.

You are not deserving of his name. Please immediately go hand yourself.

Thanks! And have a great day.
@see4 I guess you're not a car guy. I'm a stoner and I like Mustangs running small blocks. The Mustang emblem is a horse running and it got the nickname " Pony " before I was even born. Old Mustangs running 289's in the 60's were called Pony cars.

I like to get Stoned, I like Mustangs, so I combined the two. If that offends you, because some other guy had a similar name, mark yourself in the Politically Correct (Social Justice Warriors) column, I refer to as the never ending whiners, and move on along. You're not the online name police or are you ? If you are, piss off, I hate the police.

Now I have all three of you on my ass. I will concede that to >kill< there's one more component necessary outside of the gun or it's abilities. And that is: a human being with an intent

Without a human with an intent to kill a gun is unable to do anything at all. But, yes. All guns were designed to kill.

Yes, I agree - I believe in the second amendment. I own a lot of weapons myself.

I don't know, man.

  • It must be an individual weapon;
  • It must be capable of selective fire, which means it has the capacity to switch between semiautomatic and fully automatic fire.
  • It must have an intermediate-power cartridge: more power than a pistol but less than a standard rifle or battle rifle;
  • Its ammunition must be supplied from a detachable box magazine;
  • And it should at least have an effective range of 300 metres (330 yards).

I've killed a few deer and other animals. Haven't killed a human though but would if I needed to.

The civilian ar-15 lacks selective fire.

We get along and I like you.

Its just fear. People see something like this and panic and either want to ban ar's or go buy them.

The truth is that "assault" type weapons are responsible for a small number of deaths compared to pistols.

Why? Because a criminal mainly wants a gun they can hide.

I didn't know that. Is that what the shooter was using?

I have never fired one, but I assume they are just as deadly. Would you agree?
Not as deadly as filling the club with holes nobody would have a chance to run until the few seconds to reload then spray 30+ rounds for another few seconds. Yeah, crowd shooting with a full auto would be worse.
