Hey Riddle. I'm in CO also man. Thank you for all of this great info, my adventure begins tomorrow. I had a quick question, at what age (or size) do you start the 1/4 strength jack's and dyna?
He would say a few weeks like 4 to 6. Like 6" or bigger. They need a healthy well developed root system to wick the water.

LED's suck??? Yer killin' me saying that! lol

My Kessil Magenta H150 does very well so far. Haven't used it since wifes dog chewed the cord. I was able to patch it and it still lights up but I don't know how long it will last now. Hopefully at least as long as that little shredder if not longer, lol.
check out Grumpy old Dreamer's red dragon grow thread he use the magent kessil from start to finish in a mini/micro scrog with very good results.
On the upside I finally got the cord/socket set for my 400w CMH I had to buy an additional adapter to match the ballast.
Well for the price and they only penetrate 6", it's a technology just not advanced enough yet. It's several years away from good. But Induction and Sulfur Plasma are coming. I saw grumpy's and wasn't that impressed by those. They are better I'm just not sold. A 400w CMH bulb is a Mogul socket (big one) so I assume that's what you mean. A new cord is easy to fix compared to a bawling wife and the weeks of it going on.lol

So once they are 4 weeks old, I should water them until a fair amount of water comes out the bottom, then let it dry 3-4 inches down, then water WITH nutes until i get any water coming out the bottom, then let it dry and repeat?

How should I water until it's 4 weeks old?

Thanks!
Kinda close. I'm tired and don't feel like typing it out better. I just went into it earlier. It's about looking for them to be droopy, MIR, then a few days later when they are droopy, feed till just a bit of water comes out. They wick up the water and nutrients. I kinda simplified it. It's in several of riddleme's threads. like

Guys, if I post his site they (fdd or another Mod) will ban me. I want to help, but you need to find it yourselves. Simply using Google and riddleme should do it.

Some say do, some don't but i say do what you do best and allways try new techniques. I'll be trying the Let It Rain Method. I usually flush/pour clean water till run-off, and let it dry out before starting to feed again.
I do this every couple week's along with the 12/12 change over and when i start to add P.K or Boost.

Good info post man

Hey everyone,
I haven't been around in a long time, but I was just perusing Riddlemes thread again, and thought I would post this little note I found while looking for some supplies.

"Important NOTE It is with a heavy Heart that I pass this information on to you.
The CDM400S51/HOR/4K/ALTO, CDM400S51/v/4K/ALTO, CDM250S50/HOR/4K/ALTO AND CDM250S50/V/4K/ALTO
Have been Delisted By Philips, AKA Discontinued."

This was placed on http://advancedtechlighting.com/cdmed18.htm website.
I am not sure if you are aware of it, if it's true, or any other details. I am just passing along the information. You may want to stock up on a few of these if it's true.

if you have all ready seen it, sorry for the repost. if not, please try and confirm it with your local supplier to find out the validity.

I am going to buy a box as soon as I can (after some more research and maybe some calls to try and confirm it).

:peace:

Yes it is true the Phillips CMH was discontinued, however GE still makes one and now there is a new one (with a different base)

But I have followed riddle for awhile and he switched to T5's and created a thing he called the tanning booth. There are several pics of it at his new site promoting his new book

Here lately it seems that is a lot of similar threads that keep getting repeated. I have posted in several lately, they just keep commin. If folks would just take a bit of time to research and read there is so much info available.

That being said,,,,,,,,,,,

lets talk about a fan on your plants making the stems stronger?

This is yet another myth but like all the ones we have previously covered/busted there is truth in this one as well

The benefit of a fan circulating air in your indoor garden is that it prevents several diseases known as Damping Off, here is a quote from another site defining/explaining them,,,,,,,,,,,,

Now I couldn't say it any better than that and there is yet another benefit of the top layer of soil being dried by air circulation it will show you whether or not there is salt building up in your soil the edges will have a white or yellowish dried powder look to them If this happens do not water or flush but rather remove the top 1/4 inch layer of soil and discard it without replacing it, we do not want those dried salts going deeper into the soil.

Hope this helps everyone to understand why a fan is beneficial to healthy stem growth
Ok so thats what the yellow is ty
