Hi all at a loss here so need to ask for help i can't get temps below 33°C i will explain the setup below

GROW AREA

DR150 Grow tent 1.5m x 1.5m x 2m
LIGHTING
Venture Lighting Sunmaster 600w Ballast + Sunmaster 600w HPS Bulb
EXHAUST
Vents TT150 6" Exhaust Fan 520m³/h -- 306cfm
Phresh 4" Carbon Filter
Acoustic 4" Foil Duct connected to 4" roof vent
X2 6" TO 4" Reducers
INTAKE
Vents TT100 4" Intake 187m³/h -- 110cfm
Acoustic 4" Foil Duct connected to 4" roof vent
Ram Dc Eco 6" Clip On Fan
Thermal Cooler 12V CPU Fan

So the problem begins after the initial setup i was using ram air Z2/100 for exhaust but was getting high heats wen testing temps even hit 38°C (during day 25°C outside)!!
I replaced the Z2/100 with a new TT150 and re configured duct entry points and shortened duct which has improved things alot, also put a pc fan on end of intake to give the fresh air an extra boost in but I'm am still running way to hot.
the tips of my cuttings have yellowed and curled looks burned sightly i have had the light at lifted at just over elbow length because it is to hot right now

Thermometer next to plants i am reading 31.2°C
Thermometer Probe half way down tent stuck on tent wall reading 31.3°C
Bedroom temperature is 25.8°C

Pictures below showing everything in as much detail as i can
Fans are just through loft hatch hanging up packed in there original boxes with rockwool
Do anyone have any advice on what to do now?

i was looking at an igenix ig9703 air cooler but trying to avoid the extra noise and cost if i can help it (new build house with paper thin plasterboard walls) and 55w running power

ok since your in veg go ahead and try to take a natural pic , ballast is making the lines. first think is you must get a fan going over your bulb i use a batwing adjustable 1000w in same size space and can keep it 77 but i have the door open and use a clip on fan then have more in vents and exit or a ac unit. those lil intakes are not gonna keep that 600 in the right temp range. or get the intake and out take going over your light like air cooled reflectors. but you will never be able to keep light on with tent closed tight like that. best of luck . im sure someone will chime as well

Cant get pics right now sorry ... will do it after work tomorrow.. ok well for vegging thats no problem i could open up the doors but when flowering ill be in the sh*t i really have to be careful with smell and noise in my location,, 2 police officers live in my street and nosey neighbours and plasterboard walls lol

will a sealed hood really bring down temps that much if it will ill invest in one tomorrow.. will the tt100 and tt150 be ok then or will i have to upgrade to keep everything sealed up later on

just took a quick look and can i ask why you have a 4 inch filter on a 6 inch fan if i was you i would try taking the filter off if your still in earlie veg and see if the filter is compromising the amount of air being sucked in also i have to have my lights off for the hottest part of the days so if im in veg and its summer here i have my lights go off at 11 in afternoon till 5 and when i flower i will flower through the night i will take a good read at your setup and see if i can recomend anything further

sealed hoods do reduce temps but then you would need a extra extractor to replace air in your tent or run the hood with the scrubber but i would imagine a extracor for the hood seperate to the filter as if you got a 6 inch extractor sucking through a 4 inch filter also through a hood your going to lose suction there

Ah yea i tried without the CF already and it didn't make much of a different at all... reason i did that was because at the beginning i was trying to use a ram air z2/100 4" exhaust along with the tt100 as intake but the z2/100 was nowhere near enough power

good point about the hours change but i am getting a steady temp even early in the morning when its cold atm

It saves my ass. I flower at night with sealed hoods in a slightly bigger grow area with 1000watts. Intake temps 70f(21c), exhaust temps 81f (28c). Without the glass i can approach 90f+ however i am using hydrofarms active air 400cfm at 75% for the hoods alone, i also blow the exhaust OUTSIDE my window. I've fucked with the whole PC fan thing, if noise is an issue then get the biggest blower fan you can fit and forget about pc fans.

no sorry just foil top i said vents meaning the roof vents for the house roof :)
so your heat of the 600 is just staying in the tent and exhausting out with all the other air?? and you want to be able to shut tent up when lights on?? a.c. or get a air cooled reflector and get cool air running over your light and exhaust out your tent
I know. I run 432 watt t5 in a 2x4 cab. It really surprised me about how hot they are. Hid being even hotter.
try to cool a D.E batwing?? hot as all and bright

Oh I'm sure. I've actually thought about shoving a 600 air cooled in my 2x4 cab.

Bit of an advance was a bit warm today and was getting worried so had a play with the fans in configuration

i put the ram air z2/100 pulling air in to the grow area
and for exhaust i put carbon filter --- tt100 in tent attached to carbon filter then tt150 in loft at end of ducting

the tent has blown up like a balloon proving the vents tt150 is clearly no where near as powerful as then vent z2/100

I'm going to try and return it as the box is clearly lying about the output i only bought it last weekend for £75 trying to fix my heating problem !!!Diag.png
