Now I'm getting around 27'c to 28c but lost all negative pressure tent has actually blow up like a balloon
Help First time grow.. too hot

well thats just telling you not enough exhaust i have to figure out the conversion. if you can get it down to 16 to 17 coming in and get more exhausted out . ?
you might have to retire the light . to winter growing if you cant.. those numbers are to high and not the good kind

Yeah that was obvious the exhaust wasnt enough with the way the temps kept going up.
Definitely need to find a balance.

im sure you can find a air cooled reflector on the cheap . lets start with one of those. sounds like stealth is needed for flower. you have noise concerns and smell issue. with the man on the same block . cheaper and quieter than a ac. unit. question?? why not draw air in from your home space and use the 2 vents for exhaust outside . .

Sorry I didn't read it properly I was rushing thermometer sat in the air intake duct read 21 at 1:00 in the afternoon. Yes I knew vents range of fans were budget but I thought it would at least do what it said on the tin ( lesson learned! )
Now I been looking about for the most silent fan with a decent power and the can max pro keeps popping up so the 6" is about £109 but should compliment the ram air perfectly for now until I decide on changing the hood and scrubber at al later date

Hey man.
If you're running a 6" fan on a 4" filter, you'll have bigger things to worry about than heat once they start stinking. Try and sink some money in a cheap air cooled hood/cool tube, but one with decent reflectivity. I went for the Silverstar, only because I was limited by space in my first tent (80x80x160). Put the 4" fan back on the 4" filter, and extract as normal. Put the 6" on it's own intake from a cool source outside the tent, passing over the hot ass bulb and joining to the exhaust ducting with a y-connector and bafflers to prevent backdraft, then venting outside You should have minimal issues with heat and smell that way. Either that, or get a 6" filter and run the opposite (6" venting grow space, 4" cooling lamp).
I run air cooled now, and I got a roughlty 4-5C drop in temps, and that was cooling and venting off one 4" fan. Temps still got a touch too high on hot days for my liking, so I got a tent 6x the original volume, haha. Pissed off the girlfriend, but plants are happy.
Also, minimising fan noise is easy, try and hang anything with moving parts from rubber bungee straps, and away from any walls/vents/joists, etc. The rubber will dampen any vibrations, my room is now the most silent it's ever been, and I'm on a cheap ass Vents fan too. You could also think about building a DIY acoustix box with mdf and a can of expanding foam. Again, hang that from bungee straps.

Missed that part. Yea undersize filter will cause smell.
Op, when you replace that filter go a couple sizes up. Put a ten inch on it. They make reducers. The only reason companies tell you to match the fan is so you will spend more money on replacement filters. Go bigger on the filter and it will last longer.

I have a 600W in a tent and my temps were running pretty high. 28-31 and it's not even hot here yet. I tried turning the a/c down to get rhe ambient air in the room cold enough to cool the tent but it was Baltic in the room so I bought an air cooled reflector. I have it inline with my scrubber. Problem solved. 5C swing immediately and the girls responded almost immediately.

right I just bought a 6" air cooled hood just have to wait for delivery
Next step is a carbon filter and fan
I have found 6" and 8" mdf box fans for sale locally around £60 each
Do anyone have any experience with these box fans I see some are pricey online I am awaiting model numbers from seller to check specs

Would like to say I picked up this fan it was £90 for 6" tornado brand come with a speed controller as well amazing piece of kit so quiet and the output is great 1000 m3/hr can't wait to hook it upAlso picked up a rhino 10" filter used for 1 grow for £50 might be overkill for what I need but price was right

Nice man. Do you get any hum/buzz using the fab speed controller at all? Was looking at getting the same but the thermostat controlled one. Just because I'm lazy! Ha

Not really its not hooked up yet but any noise from it only appears to be the force of air well happy with it
The is a jack on top of the controller to use a thermostat I think it was about £25 on ebay

Just to let you know that fan controller did not work on the Vents tt100 or tt150 and do not work on Ram Z2/100 ( It only works on the Tornado box for me...

Tent is 1.5m x 1.5m x 2.0m
i don't really want to reverse the carbon filter and put it in the loft as i want it vented through the roof vent so the heat is gone out of the house and it will be less noise ( Yes i know is not connected yet waiting on air cooled hood and ducting

Most inline fans are brushless and cheap controllers don't work. They need a variac.

I'm sure you'll be alright with headroom, unless you're planning on growing giant redwoods.
I've seen people mounting carbon filters vertically, but I'm not sure if it will effect operation (hot air and weed stank rises).
I'm a bit jealous...

Yea it is kinda overkill haha but those police neighbours shouldn't smell a thing now in flower 
i had to support top 2 support rails with 2"x4" timber because the rails were flexing down
it was used i bought it with the tornado fan box but he claims it was only used on 1 grow and cost me an extra £50 so i thought it would be worth a try atleast
