Hey guys, how are you all doing?

Like the name of the thread suggests, i'm having heat problems in my grow tent. I currently have a 9'x9' grow (8' in height) tent with 2x 1000w bulbs (I want to end up being able to run 4x 1000w bulbs).

My ventilation works currently by sucking fresh air from outside, through the reflectors then to the outside.
I have a 710 cfm fan blowing cold air through the first two reflectors ( I have four, as I mentioned earlier I want to end up being able to run 4x 1000w bulbs.) and a booster fan 710 cfm connected to the other reflectors that helps the air get through them.

I also have a 720 cfm fan connected to a carbon filter which is also connected to the duct that is pushing hot air out of the tent to outside from the reflectors via "Y Duct connector".

Furthermore, there are two 420 cfm fans pushing air in from the room outside of the grow tent, all other suction holes are closed.

My temperature at the moment goes up to 83 and down to 71 degrees F, and the humidity is at a range from 45% - 65%. I also use a swamp cooler to keep the humidity level high and keep the tent a few degrees cooler.

An A/C unit isn't really an option at the moment, if anyone could give me suggestions i'd appreciate it very much.

I'm also growing in a hydroponic setup.

That doesn't sound like a huge problem. 71F to 83F isn't that bad when you consider the fact that you don't have any A/C at all. You aren't going to significantly improve that without controlling when the fans turn on and off or without adding A/C.

83F as a peak temperature is just fine, really.

Could you explain to me the last sentence you said regarding controlling when the fans turn off and on? I did not quite understand.

Try keeping your ballasts, industrial air pumps,or any other heat producing equipment out of the grow room whenever possible. 1-2*F is still 1-2*F and it doesn't cost a dime. Considering you are relying on outside temps for cooling of your hoods, you should anticipate higher temps as temps outside go up. Certainly higher when you factor in 2 more 1000 watt HID lights. Something to consider if your temps get hot in your region.

I keep the ballasts out of the grow tent where the plants sit, of course, but do you mean also the room the tent itself is in? Does it heat up a room that much? Also, I have taken the outside temperature into consideration as well.

If you are at 83* now with 2 lights you can guarantee temps will go up with 2 more. I would bet you would need an AC unit during mid summer. You might be able to pull it off during winter with some cold air coming in from outside.

ya, just outside of the tent.
