I am planting some today or tomorrow, but I really want to save a lot of them for outside, like the paki punch crosses. That way they can get huge  what is the bell? I was thinking of doing that one inside. The blue dream bag seed I got from you was male so I had to toss it. The bag seed from Scott's OG is so slow in flower. Is it possible she was impregnated by one of your long flowering sativas?
@Andrew2112 - Did you already grow the seeds I gave you?

Scott's is the fastest plant I have ever grown. She likes strong light.

Bell = (Scott's OG #1) x LoveChild (Mulanje Gold x Ace of Spades) or Jillanje (Mulanje Gold x Jilly Bean).

Subcool said that his plants grow slower in the winter no matter what kind of environment he creates. Somehow they just know.

Tap water. I aerate the water for a day before adding it to the resi.
Not about water, but you think its cheaper to make your own peat soilless with pertalite or just keep buying sunshine #4? Bags of sunshine run me about 31-32 bucks a bail for 3.8.

I recycle my soil. When I make a new mix. I buy a bale of peat moss for $14 then a 1 cu ft bag of pumice for $12 each. And then mix in some compost and castings.

1 bale (3 cu ft compressed expands to double when wet) $14
4 bags of pumice $48
3 cu ft vermicompost (homemade)

Then add amendments

I don't like perlite. It floats and after some time it breaks down into a powder then clogs the soil.

Mr. Hyroot,
Your SIP with air stones in the res is the best idea I've seen so far (just my opinion). I'm using homemade worm castings in living soil too, but I haven't gotten a recipe dialed in yet. I'm having trouble with moisture uniformity in large pots and this seems to solve that issue. How do you support the weight of a 15 gal suspended over the res though?

Now I've made 3 of these. And I'm making 4 more this weekend but with home depot buckets. I will be adding air stones / pumps to all sip's.

Hi Hyroot, I really like the wicking container setup that you've made:) I was wondering, do you ever water the soil from the top, or do you only water through the wicking net pot by filling through the pipe?

There's( 2) 7 inch heavy duty net pots. One is the wicking pot. The hole in the bottom of the top tote is smaller than the wicking net pot. Plus that one is zip tied to the tote. Then the 2nd bet pot is in the resi. Helping support the top tote. I posted pics of the build a few pages back.

I only water through the wicking pot. The wicking pot is submerged in water in a resi. Then the pvc is just used by pouring water down the tube to add water to the resi. Then there's a 1 inch air gap between the water and the top pot.

Oh, I see now! Thanks!

Hyroot,
You could, theoretically, add teas to the top of the soil in addition, right?

In small amounts possibly. You don't want to over saturate the soil. You can mix in or topdress good quality ewc instead of a compost tea and you can topdress malted seeds instead of making an seed sprout tea too.
