Tasty & johnson are both great & seem to be doing a very nice job, thanks man
as far as premade fixtures which one would u recommed? optic? tasty? johnson?
i've only emailed the optic guys and they recommended the 200w vero29. i though the 120w seemed ok for my space (says it covers 36"x24" at 16" height)... vero 18 cobs though, big difference?
First rule of the DIY club : show plenty of initiativeThank you very much for your feedback sirs! Is there any video/threads where i can learn the basic of led diy? for dummies version please!
You are right. However things are not always that simple.
What is the power 'sweet spot' for Vero 29's? I'd like to run 4 or 5 off one driver. There's a ton of info on the Cree CXA/CXB 3070 etc but not so much for the Vero 29's. I'd like to run them efficiently but also find the best balance of output. What would be comparable to running 4 - CXA 3070 @ 1400ma which gets about 50w's of output?
So I figured on a 4 cob setup for a 2x4 tent. I can always compensate by adding side lights if I need more juice.

I also found some interesting heatsinks I can add fans to.

It looks like the pre-drilled holes will work perfectly but I can always customize it to my needs. I'm hoping to get at least 50w per cob because 200w for a 2x4 tent doesn't sound like alot but I'm not all that experienced with this.
Also, the cobs I have access to are in limited supply. They are HERE.
If anyone can help me pick the best part number for the Vero's that would be great.
Bro for a 2 x 4 I think you're gonna need to run those v29's @~ 2 amps. I used a optic 360 which holds 4 v29's @ ~80W each, casing is 12 x 18. I too use a 2 x 4 space. Def not bright enough.. Space your cobs further apart and this help alot but @50W each x 4 you'd have ~85 par watts for 8 sq ft. Not optimal.
You should run them hard, with lenses, space them out judiciously and give good clearance.
I cant really give you any useful advice about heatsinks or spectrum. I've used vero29 4k for flower only. it worked great. Thanks for the advice. Do you think those 4.5"x4.5" heatsinks will work if I throw fans on each one? Also, I have this choice for Vero 29's.
BXRC-35E10K0-L-23 which is 3500k.
BXRC-30E10K0-L-23 which is 3000k.
BXRC-30G10K0-L-23 which is 3000k.
Are any of those better than the others? Sorry for not knowing the difference. Thanks again.
I hear ya. I have read most of that stuff and watched a shit-ton of video's but there's so many small details that I'm not sure about some things and don't want to go through ordering without being certain. So you used an optic 360 driver? I can't find a link to that. Anyway I will try doing some more research again soon, it's just so time consuming.I cant really give you any useful advice about heatsinks or spectrum. If you look around in the led section you can learn enough to easily make a well informed decision.

Lol 1k Euro. You just need seed and soil lolllll.
If you want to over spend on uniTs from the US solarstorm seem to be the biggest rip off. I'm growing massive plants with my 160 US dollar pos. Just look for pics of plants grown only with a mars hydro led. Massive Crystal covered goodness. Most people repping apache kind or any of that are reps Nd guys who over spent and because their plant grows..... They think it's the shit and call everything else crap.
Theirs no argument. Google mars hydro harvest. That's it. Then ask why pay 1k more because US workers cost more. Lollll.
