I loved it , lived there in the early 90's and then a lil North in Woodland in Yolo Co. We'd go fishing on the American river when they weren't running drag boats up an down the river lol . Cali was a cool place but I moved back home for awhile and when I went back to Cali I didn't like it as much and ended up moving back home again .

Honestly I think it a little irresponsible for my brother to move considering he had the same job and house for the last ten years, I only wish I could have his stability.. But I will support him no matter what he decides. Plus he is also my best friend so I kinda have to go, because I'll get lonely.. lol
It could be a lot worse.I'm just outside of El Paso, Texas. I should be so lucky as you. Can't wait for March and back to Alaska! It's legal there now.

I really enjoyed my vaca back in the spring. I spent a couple of days in Fort Morgan which is a small city about an hour east of Denver. Harley right there are some stinky places in CO. Denver is booming. Yea there are a lot of new people's migrating out to CO and that's why the housing market has gone up. But, they are building stuff to handle the growth so there are jobs out there. Maybe not in the weed industry but construction etc. you shouldn't have a problem getting a bartender job or whatever. I really like the atmosphere in CO. Wish o could pick up and go somewhere I am so fucking bored down here. I would probably be looking at CO or AK but, I love Cali too. Been almost 30 years since I lived there tho in the Santa Ana area. Probably completely different now.

Anyway bro, you're doing it right. I would say be free and see as much of the country as you can before you settle down. I'm envious of your youthful freedoms!

The Colorado growers will know more then you. They know the environment and what to expect (even if its indoors). I would listen and not have the attitiude that you know more, becuase you do not. Always more shit to learn dank, and if you dont have an open mind to learn new things then you will have a hard time. Coloradans Im sure have seen many people come in here and claim they know alot and fuck it all up. I just met my new neighbor the other day that came from Katy,Tx. He came to be a grower, has 2 grows under his belt and KNOWS FUCKING EVERYTHING (or so he thinks). I asked him a few questions and he was stumped but still tried to come off as a master. I just smile and nod my head...

I like Sacramento a lot.. Everyone has that Cali shwag up there..

I told my brother that my goal is northern Cali or Oregon..
If you are still considering Ca,
It's too hot around here in the summer bro. Better off moving somewhere around the coast of NorCal so you don't need AC's in the summer. Our power is fucking outrageous here. Parts of Sac has a different power Co, little bit cheaper but still rape. But you couldn't pay me to live down around Sac(sorry to those of you in Sac)
Another thing about NorCal, is they are shutting us all down around here outdoors. Up until last year, I would have my 48 plant outdoor crop to tend to, not this year. I can't grow shit outdoors here in Butte Co, or at my other spot in Yuba co. They are shutting us down everywhere here:-(

Well this came kinda sudden, looks like I am moving to Evans Colorado by the end of January.. ........snip..........
Change is exciting Dank! Hope you find opportunities you didn't expect :D Get there get any kind of grow job and show them what you know.

Don't fuck that up! My roomie's son runs a golf course in Longmont there and is buying a house because of rising rents and rising mortgage rates. I love Colorado but there are too many other beautiful places to live. I'm headed back to Alaska for good now that I am retired.
Why you only talk to us when you are moving LOL Last time I talked to you you were headed south. I am glad for you you get to head back home. Take good care of yourself and don't be such a stranger around TnT.

I know you think I suck because of some comment I made in TC one day when I was drunk..I've been growing for 11 years (for a living) I literally have hundreds of grows under my belt, and a ton posted here on RIU under odanksta and MOG..I have posted 70% of my grows since 08. There is a point where there isn't a whole lot more to learn. It's a plant, not rocket science. Yes y'alls environment sucks for indoors and outdoors. Regardless I am not growing for anybody else so I could care less about my attitude. But to say "every coloradan" knows more then me, first is a cocky generalization, second it is simply rude and false. There is no secret hidden growing techniques that are Exclusive to Colorado growers only. As your statement goes to prove my point further.

When it comes to growing you reap what you sow. You get back what you put in.

My old user name.. I wrote this thread 7 years ago with a buddy. If anyone wants to question my knowledge

Headed south to Texas. The company I was working for in AK was bought out and then the FTC said they couldn't have it because it would leave them a monopoly. Go figure. We had to get new jobs. I had less than 2 years to go to retire so I took that transfer. God I hated Texas and New Mexico is barely better. My bud just got busted for a "commercial" grow across the line in Texas. They charged him with 70 pounds of marijuana - they removed the plants from the containers and weighed them with the wet root balls and dirt and everything. Charged him with having 16 ounces of "hash oil" and it was pure liniment. He's a MMA fighter (or a lifelong trainee for them in reality) and hurts a lot. 70 pounds. He's facing a stiff prison sentence in Texas. Fuckthat place.

Dude, I would live in Evans. I did in Greeley and worked in the ICU at the hospital there. I was a forest fire fighter 2 seasons in a row over in Larimer County. Nothing is that far away there. That area and the area around NW CO are really the only reasonable rent locations left. Even Grand Junction (the sore on the butt of CO) is going up. Do it and don't look back at that rent rate!!!!! Some of the best pot I ever had was from farmers. In MO, KY, CA, CO and TX. Better than the Denver metro area.

And the area around Dinosaur and Rifle suck butt over in the NW. If you think CO can't be ugly look there. Rock Springs, WY is nearby and is another superhole. Blizzard country more than Evans and Greeley.

By the way I don't know where you live or what you are used to but it gets cold there. This winter an El Nino is strong so it's warm but keep Heet by the box in your car and use it faithfully. A plug of ice in a gas line 1/16" thick will not melt until it warms up. The Heet disperses the water in your fuel. Don't use starting fluid unless you are an expert at replacing head gaskets. Block heaters are the only way to go. If your car doesn't have one then get one. And a good set of jumper cables and cable tire "chains". If you use studded snow tires you have to swap them out every Spring or face a stiff fine for every day you run the studs after takeoff date.

I moved from the east cost now I live in Michigan. Reasonable MM laws but the best part is you can buy a house for 10-15,000 cash no credit needed (flint/shitty area). There is still some competition but nowhere close to as much as in CO. Zips of grade A meds can go for $250 plus. The area In my opinion is filled with opportunity. Everyone I hear now days wants to move and start business in CO or CA. Just doesn't make sense to me to move to where all the established competition is. I know your moving because you and your brother are best friends I'm just generalizing my thoughts. Once I have a couple more years under my belt, hopefully the laws will change out East where I'm originally from and I can move back and be one of the first to claim a name. Good luck with the move.

If you have a 4X4 and not an AWD and buy just one set, put them on the front if you ever need them and put it in 4WD. I lived right by the chain station on 550 north of Durango. Had insulated coveralls, a creeper and 2 floor jacks. We would install chains for $20 for people. Usually Texans in expensive ski clothes that had no idea. Then we took Snort, my old IH 3/4 ton truck, and used the PTO winch in the afternoon going from the ski area downhill to Durango pulling other Texans out of the snow for serious money. If you have a 4WD buy 2 sets of chains. If you have an AWD buy studded snow tires and just swap them out in Spring.

Is that the same piece of shit that kept breaking down all the time back in the spring and you created like 17 whiny auto help threads? If that thing breaks down on you in a blizzard and you're stuck out in the middle of nowhere in CO in that POS you would die man. I would say be ready to set that thing on fire if that happens to keep you warm until help arrives. Just trying to look out bru.

I replaced the head gaskets myself, just to let you know. And it's not a piece of shit either.. lol
