Ummmm..... He just said he had lots of males.... A bit overkill dont you think?Yes, yes & yes..... I fully understand your disheartening feelings. If growing weed was as easy as growing beans or corn, I would not be addicted. To me, it's like golf. Originally, I just thought that you just hit the fucking ball.... Oh, so wrong. I once told somebody that growing weed was complicated. They laughed. Anybody can throw seeds on the ground and yes, they will grow, in part. But when you want the best of the best, and pay $50 to $250 for a few seeds, the whole scope changes. And it can get as complicated as you choose. Don't give up. The key to this site is to learn from other's mistakes, so you won't make the same mistakes. The reasons we give advice is because we don't want others to undergo the same mistakes we made, and feel like a jerk.
The bad news is, somewhere along the line, you fucked up. If this is the only growing fuck-up You'll ever do, then you will be King of us all. The good news is, a whole mass of wonderful people has freely taken the time to assist you in the growing experience. And better yet, they are world wide, all in a common goal. We want you to feel the excitement that we have experienced in taking a single seed, and mothering it to something to behold. The feeling is like near walking on air! With that elation, you'll want to tell someone. That's what this is about, sharing without risk of being busted. And the common folk will never understand the passion for a baby, or a clone, etc. But we do.
Your mission Jim, should you accept the mission, is at a later date, teach us something. 80% of any passion is the desire to learn more.
Now, the issue. A lot of wonderful people is going to jump in & give you perfect advice, so be ready, and thank them for such.
Here is my theory. I can read & file away 100's of articles of what & what not to do. Example, I can read law cases by the hundreds, and know the exact law pertaining to a certain subject. Let's take murder, for instance. Law said don't kill a SOB. OK, Germ seeds a certain way. That's the rule. Unless the murder was accident, unless you chose to use moist potting soil, soak the seeds, soak in a nute solution, use temp from 50 to 80 degrees, pure perlite, container depth & moisture level. Shit gets complicated, quick & fast, like law on murder. "But Yo' Honor, I didn't say I shot him in self defense, what I's be saying is I shot him as he was going over de fence!"
Not to many years ago, our only growing education was from fucking up, or maybe advice from a local. With the info now available, like law, it's way too much info. Do or try this or that.
My entire point is, in law, to understand the concept where all the complications lie. In the case of growing, if we took time to fully understood the basic, logical concept of plants interaction with Mother Nature. Replace 'what should I do' to what are the rules that a certain plant demands. For 1000's of years, this plant has done well, all alone. This plant survived only when Mother Natured supplied the rule of mandated demands. I seriously can't see too much difference between human demands & plant demands. At the infant stage, we require leg room & nourishment. To deny such freedom causes threat to the desire to bear fruit & prosper. When that threat of denial to multiply naturally, Mother Nature/ Evolution goes into Plan B; save the species. And that's what has happened. The survival rate of the plant was threatened, and it tried to save itself by spitting out babies/seeds. No more, no less.
Yes, stress was the culprit, in some form or fashion. It only takes one Rooster to make seeds for 20 Chickens. The stupid ass seeds know this, also. That's why, when seeds are treated properly, 80% will be females.
Unfortunately, I am dumber than dirt. But I'm working on it, as I hope you will too.
I have grown a while and get about 95% female plants. Of course I did resurch and this is what I have been doing it. I soak seeds in water with a half a birth contol pill, plant in containers with dirt but containers myst be deep at least 6 inches
