Mr Sunshine I have a 400watt metal Hallide for veg, with 6 100 watt cfl daylight bulbs, and 2 450 watt CFL's. Is that not enough, if u can see on top edge of pic i have a m.h. light. do i need more for 5 plants in veg?

I have some flourescents but i havent got around to hooking them up, ii thought I had enough, and i have more cfl's but It just gets messy having them hanging all over, does anyone have any ideas how to mount CFL lights to give some side lighting, besides hanging them which leaves me wit string all over the place

So day 3 after FIM and all 3 plants I fimmed have 4-6 new branch growths. Wow wish I woulda tried this sooner it really works well. The recovery time was way less from the other plant that I did a regular top Ima put picture under this

Back to what sunshine said. For five plants is a 400 watt metal halide and 1500equivalant watts of CFL enough for 5 plants in veg stage?

You're fine for vegging, I think sunshine was referring to the one pic that looked like all you were running were CFL's. The FIM's look to have worked well and quick recovery, congrats! Once you have the process down it takes a few minutes to FIM a bunch of plants/tops. Like any training, give them a few days before stressing them again, each time you stress them regardless of method you'll see some significant growth occur once they've recovered.

Thanks Groerr, also would Fimming smaller branches work out or would it be too small to recover quick and do any good?
I've found it's not worthwhile for really small branches/tops towards the bottom. I do all the significant sized tops/branches though, typically I filter them by whether they'll be large enough to become "colas" in their own right. Depending on the veg stage and training that can be anywhere from 4 to more typically 8 of the larger branches.

By the way the tutorial on how to build that CFL reflector setup WAS SO HEPFUL! i built one this weekend and it kicks ass. Now I have just that over my babies instead of a bunch of cfls hanging all over the place, making it so hard to water them and work on them! THASNK YOU Bbcchance !!! i will show pictures of how it came out when i get home from work today

It should look like this....Here is the same lady about 40 days later. View attachment 3541835View attachment 3541836
I leave the 2 outer growths, and using my snips to separate the top leaves as far down as possible, I take off the lowest kernel.
You took the top four growths, I go down 1 more, to the VERY bottom, and will get 3 main stalks instead of the 2 from a normal topping. Try it next time, it does no damage and you can get a extra cola.

How many cut's? I have gotten 3 mains off of 1 cut 50% present of the time.. This one plant, after cutting TWICE, will give me 9 superior COLA bud, not some rinky dincki pop corn shit you are showing (lol)

The video claims it doesn't matter what wire you use from the plug...there is a black wire and a white wire for a reason. The white is your neutral and referenced to ground. The black is the hot side. Both of these are referenced at the plug (one plug has a thicker blade. If you mix these up it can create a shock hazard.GFCI outlets and proper electrical wiring techniques are important anytime water and electricity are in close proximity. If you are going to diy then at least do it right.Manufacturers go to great lengths to protect you by creating plugs that can only be inserted one way for this very reason......P.S The neutral (ground)is the fat blade on a polarized plug.

Only one cut...My plants are only 21 days in flower...And they'll have between 6-12 main colas and many many secondary colas. Here's a different perspective.IMG_20151121_222151.jpgIMG_20151122_230714.jpg IMG_20151121_222031.jpg
