I'd say this isn't like a recipe or a DIY get a bunch of weed kit with a full set of instructions of guarantees, It's cool to do just one plant to start learning but to expect a pound from one plant on the first run I think is a little much, no matter what the setup, You'll run into mistakes and stuff, plus, if the one plant hermies, even if you do get a pound it won't be a great pound. Rather than it being like a recipe I'd say it's more like painting. If you do a whole lot of learning before even picking up a brush you have an edge over someone who just sits down and starts painting, but no matter how much learning you do, or how expensive your paint is, or how many different kinds of paint you have, even if you have all the right materials to create a masterpiece, you'll be left in the dust by someone who has already painted a few paintings. There's no formula of wattages and products that can guarantee certain weights, even if you're running a very well known strain, it's all just guesses, where your skill level and luck are big variables.
Of course, I've only had two harvests this year, so if any more experienced gardeners wish to correct me, I'd take what they say into account more than what I say.
If I were you and I wanted to give myself the best chance at a pound with the equipment you have, I would either grow 3-4 plants in 10 gallon (fabric or air-pruning) pots, or I'd grow one plant with a lot of LST with like 60 days of veg in a 15 gallon pot
