Speed drying with a dehumidifier

Questions about this method , I've heard good results but what is the best temperature or max I should look out for . Also is it best to keep the room sealed or slight air exchange to keep the temps correct , would you still run a carbon filter?

Not interested in anyone advising me against this , the faster into jars for the cure the better. Chemicaly there's no reason why buds should be wet for longer so I'm testing this out

It's a myth , if anything the opposite is true , your talking about time for THC to convert, that can be done in a jar and not when it's degrading on the stem for 2weeks. If I cure with my buds retaining the same ammont of water i would have after 1-2weeks drying but in only 3days what's the difference chemicaly? other than less time for the smell to fade before being sealed snd organic matter degrading before being preserved .

There is a reason why marijuana is best cured and not dried fully then smoked. Many people do this for a profit but if you're seeking out a profit, by all means dry the hell out of your pot and give your customers no-good-grass-tasting bud. They'll cut you out real quick. Having uncured bud will get your respect level down so fast, you'll just have pot that is best used for edibles because you didn't take care of it.

Chemically your pot changes best slowly. Ever heard of cured meats? They cure meats in salts and spices for a duration of time and it is never hurried. The juices are soaked up and then the spices and salt cure the meat so that the surface of the meat is protected against spoilage but it also preserves the taste of the meat itself.
Having something done right from the beginning sets yourself up for success.
If you're adamant about something like this, do it alone otherwise why bother asking for advice when you're looking for a one-way street? Urging you to re-think your plan and dry the stuff then cure it. Chemically the pot breaks down on a molecular level, the chlorophyll degrades and the flavors come out in a far more interesting scale. I couldn't stress how many people go through an expensive grow or grow plants right and then decide to cut time by using rough methods to dry their pot. You'll just end up with an inferior product that could have been fantastic if handled correctly from the beginning.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has all those issues. He might as well smoke what lines the floors of barns full of horses. What concerns me is how reasoning seems to "work" for them but in the end they are just fucking themselves up the ass.

Out of curiosity, who told you it was a myth? Who told you to dry buds for two weeks!? That sucks bro must have lost alot of smell

and who says its degrading on a stem now some growers tent to hang dry there plants but once a plant is chopped its dead and drying process begins my self i tend to wet trim and dry on screens but secret really is extremely slow dry this way its also curing at the same time ..
by the time i bag them and burp them daily its smokable and the rich flavour smells is out of this world i have never ever dried weed that had a hay smell personally it must of been shitty ditch weed imo even my out door plant which i slow dried smells from day one to now is totally amazing and these were chopped from lower part of the plant 3 weeks way before its time it even looks pretty dam good lol and took 3 weeks to dry with little shrinkage and the smoke holy shit never ever have smoked anything so smooth i mean almost a menthol you can take the hardest longest pull and smooth no cough lock IMG2706.jpgIMG2710.jpg

Honestly I like it on the stem, makes me think of you took the time to grow it and keep it in its natural spot, I'm more inclined to buy it if it's that way. Plus if it's on the stem sometimes it's cheaper per ounce but I would hope to be getting more than an ounce to make up for the stem weight.

Just No... i didnt say i was going to over dry and then sell/smoke i said i was going to remove the water as fast as possible before curing.. so i am still going to cure it, give it time for the chlorophyll to breakdown and the flavours to come out.
On top of this im going to remove as much chlorophyll and starch as possible though a flushing technique.

How can you not see that having buds wet for longer than needed + constantly changing humidity inside itself leads to mildew, you may not see it but its there, deep in the bud not enough to see but its there. mildew spores are in the air 24/7 landing on your plant throughout its grow cycle. They only activate and start to grow if the conditions are correct, For example the limbo period between wet and dry

im NOT speeding up the time between the chop ad the smoke im purely speeding up the time between wet and cure. so that it is has the exact same water levels as bud ready for the jar but in less time...
the advice im asking for is more about fine tuning.

well you cant even trim your buds properly look at all that 5 finger leaf... or is it that there simply is no bud....

didn't want this to turn nasty but you come into my thread and slate this method as no good when youve never tried it and indirect insults towards me... ive actually had someone PM me personally saying they agree and get amazing results from it but don't want to get persecuted for publicly saying that's how they are going to cure.

you're still not getting the point here, don't RUSH your product at all. If you're worried about mildew, you should have disinfected your area first. But mold growth is taken care of if you have a dry enough area with a slight breeze. Never direct just something to keep it circulated. Mildew spores cannot grow unless there is a continually wet area like dew or residual water on the bud. If you spray your buds or something of the like , then just give them a little shake and that's it. The THC Is too sticky at the point of harvest to fall off. The first thing you should have done is stopped watering for a few days before you pulled your plants. The plant at that point would have dried up on its own by "exhaling". The drying process is not that complicated. Give it some air and feel a slight give like you feel a cotton ball does. Then cure. You can go with your logic if you want but I think you're thinking too much on an issue that is simple. Many master growers would agree with me, DONT RUSH YOUR DRYING PROCESS.

Some of us don't have the luxury of maintaining an area to do this slow and besides it's not rushing it's simply doing something more efficiently . With a dehumidifer you can maintain a constant humidity which is better .
You can definatety over do it and royalty fuck your weed into a crisp but you can also get it correct and end up with amazing results . Requires a lot more attention of corse.
Now can you stop dictating to me what I should and shouldn't do with my own produce?

My house is nornally 75-85f @65-85% rh. If i hang my weed in my closet, that shit will dry in 4-5 days at the cost of taste after cure. Sometimes i grow out bag seeds for the hell of it and i dont have room on the racks for more weed lol i quick dry that shit in my closet and it works good enough and finishes sooner but it NEVER comes out the same as a slow dry and proper cure.
