Growing opiate poppies in Canada can get you a stiff prison term.
I'm willing to bet that there will be a vast difference between the rec and med licenses.
IMO In a legal market, there will be lp's who bid to supply the pharma and others who won't get approval or win contracts for what ever reason and will have to supply the rec scene.
In the med side, you may end up with concentrates than can only be ingested in ways that are non carcinogenic like pills etc.
Med patients won't pay through the ying because either they grow their own, buy from the rec scene or prices will be kept low by the govs current system of regulating med prices in Canada.
My position about home grows in a legal market is based solely upon:
- the current regulatory structure for booze and cigs and legality of production at home.
- The Canadian courts who have already stated med patients have the right to grow at home even though it's not yet legal to everyone and is only legal for med patients.
- Making weed legal makes the plant no different than any other legal vegetation in any Canadian gardens.
