Aftermath of my Supercrop

so I was wondering it's been about 6 days since I supercropped these two girls. and I was wondering if these are healed and if maybe I didn't bend as much as I should have? maybe I was too light with the breaking of the tissue.

also one of them has this weird like open wound looking part of the knuckle. here are some pics of the two.

any suggestion or tips for future reference will be grateful.

the second one is the one that looks like an infected open wound. is that's what it is? and the white powder is from my diatomaceous earth for the gnats I get at night.

Is there even any evidence snapping branches increases yields?
well I don't know about weight, yet but I do know after i did this I have about 6 tops total, I think maybe 8. anyways I did notice it forced my lower shoots to jump to the top as opposed to growing horizontally under my og top's fan leaves..

I answered your question as best as I could now you answer mine as best as you could lol
I tried S.C. years ago when it was a new 'buzz word' and I found they could take a lot of punishment and still be OK so you are good but did not see any improvement over my grow methods .

You'll probably be fine...I did worse this run. If your worried put a Band-Aid around the wound it worked wonders on my plants. When it heals the stem will bust through the band aid so it pulls right off

not even a bushier plant? cause the bushier they get the more potential sites there are.

but you wouldn't find the band aid necessary. I have a bad infestation right now and I'm afraid they're gonna fuck with my babies. lol

Fungus gnats are really only detrimental to seedlings. They are more of a nuisance. If you put the DE on the soil youll have better results. Also watering with dunk its will help. The key is killing larva and preventing the gnats from burrowing to lay eggs. Bottom feeding works well too.

I'll give it a try. like a thick ring around the stem on the soil?

thanks brotha. I topped all my terminal buds but I also wanna FIM now Im just experimenting everything lol how would I fim a growth shoot. the shoot is now at the top after I super cropped. and can I fim the two tops I created by topping the terminal bud?

You want to cover the surface of your soil. Fimming you cut or pinch about 3/4 of new growth done correctly it gives you 4 bud sites. Search fim or fimming. I posted an image awhile back in one of the threads.

I supercrop my tall girls all the time. Sometimes have to do it on same top more then once cause they shoot back up after week or so. I bend mine over to a 90degree angle. I also bend them at the same height as the lower branches tops to create a more even canopy. I try to bend them towards a open area also to create a fuller bush.

Does it create more yield, yes but only because they would out grow my lights otherwise. I dont supercrop unless the plant has a really tall top or two that are over 7ft tall.

I use to do pistol whip technique where you pull the top down lower then the rest of the plant making the entire plant turn into tops except the actual top but havent done that in years.

pistol whip? sound like what I've read on LST (low stress training) where they bend the stalk over and tie it to the pot to force the lower growth shoots of that particular branch to shoot up and in turn become tops.
it forces auxins to spread evenly throughout the plant as opposed to focusing on the terminal bud that was originally the only top.

Fungus gnats can be very destructive, at least the larvae that is. They eat and feed on your roots until they are old enough to emerge from the soil as adults. A bad fungus gnat infestation and your plants will start showing signs of nutrient deficiencies that you will start trying to correct, all the while its just from the gnat damage and you end up messing up the amount of nutrients for your plants, and potentially over fertilize them trying to correct the problem. (I did this lol) Only to find out later it was all from the gnat larvae. DE didnt do much to combat them for me, once you water the DE isnt going to cut them up like it does when its dry. I ordered Hypoaspis Miles predator mites, and gnatrol to get rid of them.

Also recently realized that Great White Myco's has a strain of Bacillus Thuringensis a.ka. BT and so does Roots Organics Oregonism XL. I wonder if they are strains that kill gnat larvae, some strains of BT don't kill gnat larvae. I'm going to email both companies and see if they know.

I had read that de is only effective when dry but ineffective when wet but works the same way once wet de dries up again.

the thing you've specified is it organic? and the predator mites, how did you keep them on your plant? I've thought about some beneficial bugs to aid in this problem but I'm outdoors and they'd probably just take off.
