correct. and scientific research of THAT time backed him up

Of course this was the same time period science backed the bleeding of a patient to cure disease
While true, I've never seen anything where Lincoln is quoting science, or even saying cuz science.

It seems to me, he truly didn't think they were equal. Still, his doings and not doings(not shipping them all off to Africa, though one could make a case it didn't happen because he was assassinated before he could implement it) were better for America in the long run.

wow, you're still trying to peddle that lie?

you are one committed little weasel of a racist.

he never wanted to ship black people en masse back to africa. he proposed the thought of a voluntary program where any black who wanted to could get some prime land in central america though, but he never really pursued making that happen at all.

to hear a dunce of a klanman like you try to distort and revise history like that makes me sick.

He wanted to ship them back to Africa. Liberia to be exact

nope. antidis even tried to post the actual document.

he wanted to give them good land in central america with full protection.

for the purpose of reconnaissance of, and a report upon the lands, and harbors of the Isthmus of Chiriqui; the fitness of the lands to the colonization of the Negro race; the practicability of connecting the said harbors by a railroad; and the works which will be necessary for the Chiriqui Company to erect to protect the colonists as they may arrive, as well as for the protection and defense of the harbors at the termini of said road.

and it was all to be voluntary.

that, in any event, steps be taken for colonizing [them] ... at some place, or places, in a climate congenial to them. It might be well to consider, too, whether the free colored people already in the United States could not, so far as individuals may desire, be included in such colonization.

and he gave up on the plan in 1863.

"I am happy that the President has sloughed off that idea of colonization."103

Shipping them off to Panama was also an Idea he and a friend cooked up. But Liberia was a destination he always had in mind for the FREED slaves.

I can excuse Lincolns racism as a product of his times, Just as I can excuse my own grandmothers.

I know a lot of Garifuna and Hondureno Bay Islanders. They maintain that their ancestors were never enslaved. Not exactly related just saying.

Racism was prevalent in the Midwest in the 1850s. When Douglas tried to portray Lincoln as the friend of the blacks, Lincoln countered, as he did in a speech at Peoria, Illinois, by denying that he saw blacks as equals and by advocating the colonization of freed slaves in Liberia

what he said in a debate and what he directed the government to do as president were two different things. he directed the government to look into colonizing central america and giving it to any blacks who voluntarily chose to move there.

Since the 1840s, Lincoln, an admirer of Clay, had been an advocate of the ACS program of colonizing blacks in Liberia. Early in his presidency, Abraham Lincoln tried repeatedly to arrange resettlement of the kind the ACS supported, but each arrangement failed.

your own citation says he abandoned that idea by 1863 (as i said) and does not mention him doing anything as president to look into liberia as a place for colonization.

he was for central america, and only on a voluntary basis.

Lincoln was a racist. And voluntary only means leaving the situation bad enough that they will want to leave.

if lincoln wanted blacks to suffer enough to leave, why did he become a proponent of black suffrage and have frederick douglass as one of his advisors?

the fact is he abandoned colonization of central america by 1863.

Just because there was bloodletting doesn't mean all the science from that era was wrong.
