Growing Weed with Mama

I gave the girls a light application of neem and silica this evening when it stopped raining. Any pests that may be lurking would have been hiding under those leaves for protection
from the rain. So I figure it was a perfect time to spray. Nowhere to hide.

i did the same this morning good call .
i mixed in a scoop of "dragonfly earth medicine" natural mystic foliar for good mesure (bt bact ) and some nettel, calendula, and tricoderma in there too thought it might be a product you would like for whole garden use i use it everywhere on the soil to...happy gardening.

Funny story. I hosted a sleepover this weekend for the kids. In the morning it was time for the kids to call their moms to check in. My cellphone was dead so the kids had to use a regular house phone.

They started dialing an area code 916 number when I reminded them they needed to dial 1 first. Suddenly the phone started ringing out when we hadn't even finished dialing. So I grabbed it and hung up and had them start over. After they were done talking to their mom and hung up, the phone rang right away. I answered and heard "Hello, this is 911, we just recieved a hang up call from this number. Is everything ok?"

I'm going to start light depping these 3 Spaceballs for a little early smoke. My last seasons harvest is running mighty slim. They should finish up around August when the rest of the girls just are starting to bud up.

They both have advantages. Alien is tougher but Golden Gun is bigger.

think I grew that alien og a year or so ago but didnt like the smoke. mine looked way more indica dominant than yours. im only runnin 3 strains right now.
i have to check out how peek tours work here and see about a journal?

Hi! Welcome to Rollitup! Thats a bummer about your Alien. I think this is a special cut. Something about my grow style or location tend make almost every strain I grow have a more sativa phenotype expression in structure. It's weird. She was very frosty and pretty colors indoors so I'm hoping for the same but bigger from the outdoor.

I picked up some essential oils to make my own organic bug spray.
I sprayed with them for the first time this morning. I just hit a few plants to see how they respond. If they like it I'll spray the big girls too.
1 TBS Lavender Oil
1 tsp Tea Tree Oil
1 tsp Rosemary Oil
and a few drops of peppermint oil in the Hudson Fogger. So almost 2 gallons of water. And 1/4 tsp organic dish soap to emulsify. I was worried I might be over applying the silica between sprays and waterings so I'm back to using soap for a while.

No, never had it or any of their stuff. Im glad to hear it was good. I can't wait to try some this fall.

I usually run a few tried and true strains and a few new ones each year to expand my horizons.

I've read that enviroment can effect phenotype. There are genotypes and phenotypes and I would need a science class to understand it all. I would love to sign up for a few plant science class when the baby is older. But I know I have grown cuts off the same plant as friends and had them look different. I know topping tends to make the plants get a more sativa look with smaller leaves. The plants I leave untopped get huge fans but as soon as I start topping, that changes the structure some. More branching with smaller more thin blade fans instead of the beefy indica fans.

I started a tea brewing. My last tea was mostly nitrogen from neem seed meal, so this one is more balanced across the NPK and minerals.

3 tbs fish ferts - nitrogen
1/4 cup kelp - trace minerals
1/4 cup guano - phosphorus
capful fulpower - fulvic acid
5 tbs molasses - calcium and food for the soil life. The kelp is a good alternative for calmag also.

Golden Gun was growing up taller than I wanted so I tied her down and super cropped a few branches. Now she's short and fat like I like em.

Nearly 8 ft across and 5 ft tall. Once she hits the stretch in a few weeks it's going to be out of control.

Oh I forgot to say. It's a Rubbermaid trashcan full. Maybe 20-30 gallons? It should be a pretty light tea since my soil is heavily amended. You could probably go a half cup each of kelp and guano and 5 tbs fish ferts for a heavier tea.
