For me, 1911s are like tattoos. Once you get one, you can't help but get more.

Problem is, my taste is expensive. I'd love to own some WW2 originals, but the condition I want, they are asking $9k or more them. :(
The 1911 is one hell of a sexy pistol. Dan Wesson makes a nice one that isn't so expensive ($2200), yet performs like a $4,000 Wilson Combat.

You just pointed out that I was 100% correct. Thanks.

A can is just a can, it looks like a suppressor, but isn't one. Sorry you didn't know that.

Why do you have a can on a .22LR anyway? Don't you have a real 1911 in .45? I have several.

Oh you mean like these 45s? One that I keep in my office while I work, and the other in my truck at all times?

Face it NoDrama......

I do love the look of tax stamps. I suppose that's why I collect so many.

Don't be jelly. It's all good.

Sorry you have to endure that Canadian made 1911, does it fail a lot? That has been my experience. 1911's have malfunctions too often for my taste, so I never rely on them for defense.

Having a Muzzle loader allows me to get another deer tag above and beyond the one I get for my centerfire rifles and the one I get each year for my bow.

My CCW is a Smith & Wesson model 642 revolver.
I have a Glock 17 in my truck
a Sig Sauer P229 in my wife's vehicle
a Sig Sauer Mosquito in the harvester

I was not a marksman in the military, marksman is the lowest qualification of rifle accuracy in the USMC, we also called it the pizza box award.
I was a 5 time rifle expert and 4 time pistol expert. That is the highest qualification.

Sharpshooter is better than marksman, but not as good as expert.

Yea, I didn't have a need or requirement to be a better shot. I jumped out of planes to give shot up folks CPR. But now I'm fairly good. Good enough to take down a buck or a slow moving zombie, if the need arises.

I was thrown off by the CCW gun, because I carry, but no CCW is required. Thanks Arizona. I have a CCW so I don't have to wait for the FBI phone call to pick up my gun(s). That's all. My conceal is a 9mm. I used to conceal a .40, then realized those guns suck.

It does take a special person to be expert. I can never get my breathing just right.

I love my Dan Wesson. But not as much as my Nighthawk.

I've not shot a WC yet, nor a Les Baer. Kimber sucks. Well, the newer models suck. I sold my Kimber 5 days after buying it.

The Para has not given me any problems thus far. Granted I only have about 2500 rounds through it. Even with repeated double taps I dont get a jam. I get an occasional misfire, but I blame that on shitty factory ammo. My reloads never fail.

The only thing I have a hard time controlling is my heart beat. It throws my 1200 Meter shots off by as much as 10 inches.
That is for sure. I was raised in western KY and deer hunted very large flat areas.
Sometimes long shots were needed. Some will criticize my favorite deer rifle. Remington 700 in .243. It has a pretty flat trajectory. Capable of 500 yards all day long.

.243 is one of the best deer calibers of all time. Right behind the .30-30.
Can't go Wrong with a Remington 700, one of the best rifle designs ever. Most accurate out of the box production rifle. I own several, but this one is my favorite. .308 Win with a 5r Barrel and a 6.5-24x Leupold.

I hate fuckers that hunt deer with magnums, WTF would you shoot a deer at 75 yards with a 300 Win Mag for? At that distance I would use my Colt Python revolver or my .223 Rem Weatherby.

That pretty sweet to have the action from an old flintlock. You really have to know your shit to be able to fire one of those with any skill.

When I dug that pistol up, it looked like a chunk of slag from a foundry. I found all the hardware including the round that was in the barrel. It lost a tiny bit of weight but is fully functional and I have a tree branch located for the stock. I`m going to covert the pins to screws on the action only and leave the rest as pins. It has a ballast trigger so it quite early.

I wanna add, you people keep your guns in top condition. If I showed you my Winchester lever action, you all would be like.... Did it get hit by a train or something ?...
Guns are expensive why not keep them in top shape.

Plus ex military are anal about things like that. Dirty guns might fail.

Even in the Air Force we were trained thoroughly. Every one in basic when I was in spent 4 days in armory breaking down, cleaning and refurbishing ARs.

I agree that .30-30 is the best short-to-medium range deer caliber there is. Out to 150-200 yards. Low recoil, inexpensive, factory rounds are decent quality, ballistics great for deer, not a mountain-to-mountain shooter like .243, etc. I always liked .30-30.

The problem with .30-30 never was the caliber itself. It was the fact that back in its hey day, it was normally shot out of 5.5 lb Winchester lever action rifles with open sights. And people would shoot at deer and just wound them, and blamed the caliber instead of their light, open-sighted rifles.
