I went to most of the World Series of Rock concerts at the Cleveland stadium. Started about mid 70's, and there were about 12 of them or so. This was the prime barbiturate and quaalude era so only remember about half of them. They tell me I was the life of the party! Also went to many at Legend Valley down by Columbus, Ohio
Legend Valley was THE PLACE to be back in the day.

I remember the huge enclosure of confiscated booze bottles, one day it was so fucking hot and we were eating dexedrine and I was sick as a dog. Another time there was a long ass mud slide we slid down, covered in mud, high on acid. Getting stuck in the parking lot for hours cause of the mud, IN MY CAR!

I seen Foghat in Detroit, best concert ever.

We charged and got main floor right when Foghat took the stage. it was sad seeing the lady chick security guards get pushed aside as some jerks pushed through but we ran right on by with the crowd.

Got 50 feet from the stage and some biker dudes met up. I was right next to a group of bikers in full colors and looking big as fuck, they were smoking a huge piece hash on a needle, I got behind them and got stone. Mid way through the concert some jock GF's started getting grope by the bikers, the jock BF's took on the bikers, it was bad ass, the jocks got the shit totally beaten out of them, the chicks were crying and the bikers were laughing and Foghat band was checking it all out as they played.

The bikers hooked up with some other chicks--smoking hot, they were on the bikers shoulders..not sure if they went topless--I think so, we knew better not to piss the bikers off or their GF's so we watched the band.

At the end of the show there was groups of cops at all the exits, they were waiting for those bikers. I didn't stick around to see what happen. I was was Stone Blue and seen some bad ass fighting and even some tits. I was 16 years old...today those bikers would have been also charged with abuse of minors, lol

I don't even remember. It's sort of a grey area as my family found itself in festival settings frequently. And there were bands there. First time I paid for it? I don't know. I just don't.

Err, maybe 1980 Bowie?
That's not a gray area, more like a black area.
Yes, I'm white.
No I'm not a racist.

my first concert was some punk band you've never heard of playing in a fire hall in a town you've never heard of..
my first 20 or so shows were mostly like that, with a few towns you may have heard of thrown in the mix..
my first arena rock show was ozzy, with metalica opening up for them... think it was the blizzard of oz tour, and metallica were touring for master of puppets. cliff was still alive, and they were great.. ozzy always puts on a good show..
been to probably 100s of concerts over the years, mostly at a small shit club seeing, small, shit hardcore, punk bands most of you never heard of..

Thats true, I don't recall my first concert, hmm

They are were pretty much the same, lots of pot smoking, people holding lighters up with the flame adjusters up all the way. Foghat was the only one to really stand out..I got thrown into some braff on the floor during one of the big fights. It was standing room only all of us pack together until bodies started getting knock around

It was only 3 bikers I recall now, was just 2 but when the crowd rushed the stage, the 3rd biker showed up and teamed up with other 2 guys....thats why 5 big jocks thought they could take them on.... their GF's help others in the crowd carry their BF's away--was cool cause alot more space opened up on the floor and the bikers found some cool chicks to take back home--expect they went to jail......nobody took any pictures back then, it was so cool, today people want to record everything, it sucks

Suck too smelling like puke on half my shirt but it was just as well I hurried up and got out of there before the coppers moved in...today every things so mess up, the whole place would have been locked down, everybody would had started to rat on each other with their camera phones

Actually I forgot I'm pretty sure my father took me to a Jimmy Buffett at six flags before that..
I went to a bunch of big band concerts as a kid.. not so much anymore... this last year I slacked off and miss a lot of my favorite bands.. I am missing music from my life.. :(

Missed dirty heads, Nine inch nails twice and glitch mob..

Pantera and Prong in 1994. Sepultura was supposed to be there, but they cancelled last minute. I remember my friend's dad took us, and he got shitfaced drunk there. He had like four or five beers on the drive there and dropped about fifty bucks on beer at the show. He could barely walk when we left. It was one scary ride home, plus I was riding in the back of a pickup truck.
