Peace natural recall

Seems like a Health Canada inspection revealed that Peace Naturals was selling a 9%thc strain, but actual HC tests tested it at 13%, So they are recalling it because of the high thc content. Our tax dollars at work, nice job Health Canada / Peace Naturals. Keep up the good work.

I sensed a THC cap with the LP's because of the wording on ALL their sites...'We strive to do every thing except bring you top quality weeds'. (those numbers are bullshit) Nowhere is is it written that any company (LP) produces hi grade weed, NOWHERE!

They strive to be produce safe, clean, unirratiated, unmilled, claim to use names we can understand and some we don't. They claim to be transparent and have 50 grow rooms coming up, Master growers etc. but the cunts just cant grow a plant like MK Ultra or a decent AAA strain etc. Medical weeds have to have some kick. If I want recreational or 'bored housewife'. weed I'll order from an LP

Do you know if they have their own lab or third party?
I wonder if HC does an independent third test, who says HC tests are more accurate?
Do you think the thc% is consistent throughout the plant from top to bottom, or do you think the % is higher with the top buds?

I think we need independent third party testing,i found this on chimera's forum. He also touches on how terpenes and thc interact, as far as the nuances of the high. Most flowers are in the 15-18 range, straight up. Less peak over 20%, only a few over 25% and very, very rarely up towards total 29% THC equivalents. That's the potential total THC measured by HPLC and subject.to 100% decarboxylation when burned or processed (near impossible-some cannabs are always destroyed during processing/decarb).

GC/FID really only measures THC or CBD peaks because the THCa and/or CBDa are decarboxylated (also some are destroyed) in the injector @250 C.. GC reads can be as high 30% low from equipment induced error. HPLC is the way to measure cannabs because the readings represent what's actually IN the flower, meaning mostly THCA and a small amount of THC. The total of the two, after.the THCA is decarb'd, is what is referred to as THC equivalents, and most often seen on dispensary menus in the US. It's always a good idea to ask how the measurement was taken before making an assumption about the potency. The fact that 15% THC weed gets pretty much everybody ripped should say something... there more than just high THC numbers in this thing we call "potency".

leaf hit the nail on the head.. THC is not consistent throughout the entire plant.
If they're going to start playing this game, things are going to get messy. The fact that they're willing to do a product recall weeks before the big court case is also scary.

There are also different methods of testing that result in different values, etc.
Same strain with samples from the same part of the plant can have very different results:

Gas Chromatography Model
  • THC: 16.85%
  • CBD: < 2%
Liquid Chromatography Model
  • THC: 20.09%
  • D9: 1.09%

So why exactly did they recall it because the extra couple percent thc wasnt paid for?
How the hell does someone return used meds? The ashes lol
What a joke..

I don't think you return used meds, but the regulations specifically state that they must declare the actual THC content. If they don't declare it correctly it doesn't meet the standards and must be recalled - they just don't understand that this is next to impossible with mmj.

The issue is that they're treating the active components of mmj the same way they treat the active components of any other "drug". Don't waste your breath telling me how different mmj is, I'm aware of that but it doesn't change how they classify it and how they treat it. You can't just ship aspirin that says it has 20mg of __________ in it and then actually have 24mg in it.

These guys registered wayyyyyyy too many patients than their capacity can support very early on and its been catch up ever since.

It will be a lot easier for them to standardize the cannabinoid percentages when they are able to extract them from the plant. Making the value of quality flowers they cant even yet produce worth even more.

Correct, but I can't blame them for this incident - this is almost impossible to do perfectly.
That said, I think HC knows that, so I'm sure there's some alternative motive here. Makes no sense to slap a restriction on supply this close to court date.

THC% and potency do not always go hand in hand....for instance landrace equatorials from Africa can have profound effects and contian low % of THC.Point is much research needs to be done with this wonderful plant.
