I don't think any of the mexican food places in Cali realy serve chili. I always thought it was more popularized in the Southwest during catle drives, when they had a ready supply of beef and needed dried goods that wouldn't spoil like beans and various dried spices. Although I know that the mixture of meat, beans, and vegetables were knows to the Mayans and Aztecs for likely hundreds of years...So yeah, I guess technically you don't get more mexican than that, right?
CHILI!!!

I grew up with beans in it and love it both ways but they'd go brokeback mountain on me here in TX if it had beans in it....

My pressure cooker and chunks of beef make one hell of a Texas chili. Love me my pressure cooker.

kidney beans dark or light or both
ground beef and ground turkey or ground venison
diced and crush tomatoes
red chili powder
garlic salt
onion
hot chili seasoning
green pepper
beer
sliced jalapenos and some brine
little crushed red pepper

i can't really give exact measurements due to being a secret but hey it's not rocket science, it's chili

go to your local grocery store buy price drop steaks/ cut up into small chunks then add your hamburger meat & cook it get your chili mix going load it up with peppers add kidney beans bring to boil and add cooked meat , this keeps it from sticking to pot let it cook long enough to get the flavor in the meat it's done .also good adding rabbit
