Smoking While Preggers

I like this article... and so will many of you.

Mothering Magazine Birth Preparation Article: Medical Marijuana for Severe Morning Sickness

I don't know how many pages back it was, but you posted a link regarding cannabis on the fetus, and one of the very first paragraphs stated that even when administered concentrated doses (I can't remember the exact wording) there was no chromosomal damage. Neither of these links is what I read that you'd previously put up.
I believe that's the only link I posted... and the link I just posted says the same, I'm in agreement that THC is safe, but it is still a fact that smoke inhalation is unhealthy, pregnant or not, so I do not recommend "smoking" cannabis is right for pregnancy. That is, after all... what this topic is about, "smoking while preggers" :hump: Love ya SM!

from your link socata.... think this sums it up; at least in my opinion, but i was convinced from the start....

When adverse outcomes are found, they are inconsistent from one study to another, always relatively minor, and appear to have no impact on infant health or mortality.......Overall, this research indicates no adverse effect of prenatal marijuana exposure on the physical health of newborns.

And what if you CAN'T eat it? MissMoffit (Jesus I can never remember her whole name) and I both experienced horrid nausea. Not just morning sickness, all fucking day long and night sickness. For me it finally ended at the beginning of the THIRD trimester.

Did no one else read fdd's Ganja Mothers article?

Yes, I think so too, and this thread has just fucking exploded and I'm still spending too much time sitting at the computer. (Maybe I should get changed and take a ride upcountry or something...)

This is an interesting excerpt...
Dozens of studies have compared the newborn babies of women who used marijuana during pregnancy with the babies of women who did not. Mainly, they have looked for differences in birth weight, birth length, head circumference, chest circumference, gestational age, neurological development, and physical abnormalities. Most of these studies, including the largest study to date with a sample of over twelve thousand women,9 have found no differences between babies exposed to marijuana prenatally and babies not exposed.1

Mind control, as you call it, was not quite what I said. I said that it makes you more docile, not that they are controlling your mind. And is not even the main issue for me. It is the fact that it leads to lower test scores, lower intelligence, health issues, etc.
Here is link to a Time magazine article, which shouldn't be biased, that states some of the health risks. It show pros and cons, this one I hope you would believe.
Not in My Water Supply - TIME

Sure there is a bunch of garbage out there. And I am usually not one to believe the internet mumbo jumbo. But this is going over the top. Even if you don't believe that fluoride makes you more docile, you can't dispute the other facts.
I don't buy bottled water, I know that stuff is garbage. But none of the water in the communities I lived in was ever fluoridated. Don't believe the "mind control" part as you call it, but keep your kids safe.
When 32% of the kids in the US have some sort of fluorosis, and dentists are still backing the fluoridated water issue, you have to think, don't these dentists have an agenda as well?

here's the closing sentence from socata's latest link.... i advise reading the whole report, but this sums it up for me....

"While it is sensible to advise women to abstain from all drugs during pregnancy, the weight of current scientific evidence suggests that marijuana does not directly harm the human fetus."

point blank, period... im out of this argument...

Honey, I puked during labor. But that's another story entirely!

By the way, my oldest son, now 22, was at school during the quake. As ever, he totally dug the ride. My youngest, now 19, is still asleep.

While each have their own issues, as I've said before, those are likely far more related to our family's genetics than anything else, especially the Tourette's (my son is a participant in a City of Hope genetics study due to our family history).

how would smoke hurt something it will never touch? Its never making it to the babies lungs, so the smoke itself wouldnt be a problem.

That big ass epideral they stick in those chicks, along with the painkillers and the nasty ass diet of most americans will do way more harm than any weed will. How about aspirin and the like?

And if you wouldnt want your baby having it, why would you want to put it into your system? If it is trash for a baby, then it is trash for your boday as well.

While I quoted you directly in some of my posts, they were also directed at others who claim that the only reason or purpose behind fluoridation is to control the masses.

Each and every study you pull up talks about high levels of fluoridation having these effects. This article suggests that the EPA was politically motivated to raise its safe levels to those many times higher than it had originally set, and those original guidelines have been adopted by the WHO. Again, nowhere is it saying, with the exception of the ONE study that found osteosarcoma incidences to be higher within a very specific portion of the population, that any levels are bad and/or toxic. Not one mentions mental malleability as a consequence, either.

I'll tell you what, I have three family members who are dentists. I'll give them a call and see what they have to say. Their favorite toothpaste, hands down, is Colgate Total. :D

No, no pre-eclampsia. I just get really really sick when I'm pregnant. It's how I figured out I was pregnant, and like I said previously I ended up in ER on many occasions, throwing up bile and crap. Ugh.

I'm sure the dentists will tell you fluoride is great. Look at the study, 32% of kids have some sort of fluorosis. This is big money for the dentists. Ask them about the mercury fillings too. They will probably tell you those are great as well.

Or, I COULD ask my doctor and lawyer family members what THEY think. And, while I'm at it, I think I'll hit up some of my researcher friends, too. :D
