The best would be the places...NYC, Cali, Colorado, VEGAS, etc...

The worst would be some of the people.

Worst: The bastardization of our political system where our politicians are bought and paid for at the expense of every American.

Best: Most of the people that live here. As a majority, we're nice caring people that are more than willing to help their fellow man.

I split time between Ireland and the US, so what do I like most about Ireland, well that is easy. A pint of fresh Guinness in Dublin is a very good thing, and the worst thing is the fucking weather.
In the US, I like the variety of good food from all over the planet, and the thing that I really fucking hate about this country (besides the GOP) is Texas. Ever been there? Fucking big cowshithole with a lot of waanabe cowboy's that never grew the fuck up. Austin is the only city worth seeing, fuck the rest of it.

Ireland:

Best: You can sidestep a lot of laws, ie planning regs, vehicle maintenance, taxes, driving ability/sobriety, working (due to the ridiculously high state handouts).

Worst: Every bastard does most of the Best things, and that fairly fucks a country.
sounds like america circa early 1900's

And like that era, it's very much a case of who you know and how well you know them which decides to what degree you can exploit the situation. Localism is a powerful entity in rural Ireland, if not all the way up to the Dáil.

It probably does come down to that.
As an English immigrant in a small community I will never really hold a position of authority or even really be considered anything but a 'blow in'. That's another Best Thing about the country for me. Outside looking in. Feels safer somehow.

As a wise man once said:

"I'd sooner be on the platform trying to piss in through the train's window, than on the train trying to piss out."

like: in times of trouble, everybody stands shoulder to shoulder..white, black, brown, yellow and everything in between.

hate: the closed minded, those who insist on doing "because it's always been thus"..not questioning, part of the herd mentality.
