The US is the least racist country on Earth, and the most race-obsessed.
The US has become a big nanny-state, second to the UK in that regard but we will overtake the UK soon cause we're the best.
The best:
1. The idealized belief in freedom.
The worst:
1. Preaching to the rest of the world that they need to be like us.
2. we don't use the metric system

The coffeeshops are nice to have but I smoked (and re-sold) cannabis before I had one in the area too, it's not the best thing. It's really no different from having a star bucks or a bakery in the street once you get used to having them. The reason coffeeshops could be started was perhaps the best thing: mild laws (they basically just did it, what's the worst thing that could happen... not jail time...). Yet, 6th lowest crime-committing country in the world. At the same time rapists and murderers get relatively mild penalties too so maybe not the best thing...
IKEA... good one. I personally don't have ikea shit in my home but it's popular indeed, not that popular to be the worst thing though. It's still optional
But a reason it's popular might be the worst thing: small simple yet expensive houses with tiny so called post stamp size garden, if any.

Another Best Thing:
The country being on it's arse means people who only sound posh but are working class can squirrel away enough money to buy a property without having to borrow money from banks.
Another Worst Thing:
Said property will likely be uninhabitable for years, due to being unable to borrow any money from the banks, due to the country being on it's arse.
