lol..look at my first post..no mat, dome, spraying, hormones, special treatmen of any kind..not rocket science..7 days of fucking off, then plantjng..hell,my blue dream grows 2in while its in the cloner as well!..they sell mini cloners too...by far the best method ive read/seen to date..
to each their own tho...good luck..

What is so different about how you need to treat cuttings vs seeds?

I just cannot get cuttings to root. I'm using root powder, and the only thing that does happen is the formation of a lump around the bottom of the cutting.. it never grows roots.
They are in a humidity dome that is vented, sprayed a couple times or more per day, and in rapid rooters. The humidity dome stays wet 100% of the time.

I've got 6 cuttings, 3 i trimmed all the leaves off from except the main part, the other 3 I left the cuttings as they were.

Do they need to be really close to the light? I've had 100% success sprouting seeds and keeping them alive, but like 10 failed clones.
Keep it simple. Humidity dome and flat. Rockwool is my preferred, but see people do it with rapid rooters. I am no a fan of spraying the plants or dome. Just close the dome, make sure the vents are shut for atleast first 5 days. I probably open my dome once during the whole cloning process. U set a 20 watt t5 directly ontop of my dome. Creates all the heat I need without a heating pad. As long as u have some condensation on the sides of dome it is humid enough.

not sometimes,mine ALLWAYS root quick..
We are talking about cloning in a media such as soil, rock wool, jiffy pellets and etc. I've owned a Botanicare's 70 site Power Cloner before. I have to do another 200 clones the difference between rock wool and the cloning machine is transplanting and the rock wool wins every time.

not necessarily..
4gal of water: 2cents and a trip to the kitchen
rockwool:repeated trips to the store for horemones and the rockwool itself..idk,cause i like keeping my money.:-) but im sure its more than 4 cent..
heres the 100% sucess rockwool beats everytime..

straight up,thats 7 days almost to the minuit..would have been ten but my partner was slackin,so i had to go earlier than normal..good thing, cause the roots were getting tangled together..
to each their own, some people need gadgets and extra steps in their processes, and enjoy them.
..i dont..
but as long as both roads lead to the same destination...

What does it have to do with his problem? How's that gonna help? I'm on here to play who's dick is bigger. I'm here to share my exerpience and knowledge of growing. I used to grow for a pre ico dispensary is socal and I quit because I wasn't getting paid what I should have been.
My Led grow no more HPS as well as starting new moms from seed. I have 24 strains now soon to be 28 when my other order of seeds come in.

I think I got Amnesia because I forgot what feminized seed this is lol

and here's my mom tent

hmm, well,, don't remove the leaves.. i know it is a common practice, but all it really does is slow the plant down. this is assuming you are able to keep the humidity up. you might be able to pull off lower humidity when you trim the leaves, but in most cases it just does more harm than good. lots of people do it though.. i used to.. stopped, growth is much better.

cuttings need very little light.. like very very little. lots of light just bleaches them, stresses them, slow root growth, lowers success rate.

prbly dont need to spray them down every day, DEF not multiple times per day.. spraying them leaches the leaves, causes clorosis, slows growth, stresses, etc.. you want to spray the inside of the dome enough to keep the humidity up, but you dont want to spray the leaves nonstop, just not needed, does more harm than good, lots of people do it though.

I had great success for years.. then i started having lowered rates.. i investigated and it was just the basics (fresh air, stopped stem scarify, etc).. i just got lazy.. i improved a few little things and am back to 100% with batches of 60 cuts... that's pretty good, right?

you dont see any variety among genetics? that is strange.. What I've seen in the past is the absolute earliest is 4 or 5 days. The longest is about 10-11 days.. add a couple days for less than ideal happenings (hey, shit happens).. But each genetic variety consistently roots in it's number of days.. like my SSH takes a little longer 8 or 9 days... blueberry x grapefruit, always did it in 5 days.

ive seen trays get fucked early on, wilted, but turn around and end up rooting many days late... some up 2 wks to root... some never came out of the wilt tho.. stuff like that.

I planted the rapid rooters into soil and put a dome on top of them.. this way the rooter can be moistened and so can the dome... the leaves are all still green all around and its been probably 10-14 days.. i'll let em sit till they die outright but i dunno.

if you really have issues cloning there`s a product called "root to gel" or "gel to root" one or the other

You get it in clear pots or by the bottle

You just pour some out and put the cutting in it and wait a few days to 2 weeks you can see it grow as the gel is clear so you know when to transplant

Not something I`d use every time due to cost but if you want something that lets you see the roots without having to move anything that might help

I`d look into your temps, what water your using and how you are making the cuttings any air up that main stem or anything dirty or that will cause the plant to rot or get sick and you`ll just end up with a dead thing instead of a rooted clone

As already mentioned in here, Aero Cloner is an easy way to get consistent and almost 100% success rate, you'll be culling the runts after a while and being selective about your best clones, not whether they root or not. Straight tap water, keep the temps under 75 ideally but not absolutely necessary, wait 7-14 days depending on the strain and plant them into whatever medium you use. I've used as many methods as there are over 30 years of growing, aero is the easiest and most successful by far. Only other way I clone now if the cloner is full is cut, scrape the last 1/2" and straight into a 50% soil/50% pro-mix, bottled or filtered water, get about 75% success rate with that method. No gels, matts, or any of the many "add-ons" that tend to make no difference at all. Sometimes a dollar store clear plastic cup as a humidity dome if I can't get my humidity up to 60%+. Remember some strains are a bitch to clone, I've had some go as long as 20 days before rooting in aero which is like a lifetime in aero. On the other end of the spectrum I just rooted some Harlequin BX4 that took 8 days to get root balls touching the water level. Strains make a difference and some are a pain in the ass.

Im going to grab the aero cloner. I'm still counting on those 6 to take roots since they don't seem to be losing color or really dying.

2 clones started roots as of today.. not a lot of hope for the others, but as long as one grows all is not lost, right?

Yeah you're good, if they're taking you should be good to go, it's pretty hard to kill them once they've rooted, just don't over-water and they pretty well grow themselves.

I'm still contemplating grabbing an aero cloner. Was there a seller on here?
@rory420420 had posted this link to one, I've seen others using that one and getting good results, cheap on ebay.
how long do you keep the aero mister on every round? And how frequent?
I typically run it for a couple of weeks to get my clones, clean it and put it away until I need it again. Sometimes like right now I've had it going for 3 weeks as I had to load it at different times, lots of strains at different stages.

I use a CAP NFT timer which goes 1 min ON, 4 minutes OFF but I've run it 24/7 as well, I've talked to others do that also. The most benefit from the 1/4 timers is keeping your res temps down. If you have a cold concrete floor to sit in on like in your basement somewhere you're probably good to run it 24/7. They don't need much light, the less light or further away you keep the light makes it easier to maintain res temps too.
