Generators and vegging and HPS

1. Anyone know much about generators, I need one that will run 9,000 watts. I found a few 4 sale, but all of them where overkill.

2. I read some where that all HPS lights are not created the same. And some are better equiped for the vegging stage then others. I would prefere to veg and flower off HPS, rather the metal halid and then hps for flower.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for what brand of HPS is good for this?

Also from experience do you guys find vegging for 24 hours is better then 18/6 because anything longer then 18 hours. I have read you really just get deminishing returns.

Thanks,

no veggin all day and night. and as far as generators 9000watt generator is a big en.... you need to look at amps and how many breakers it has. even most 6500 watt generators can still only make 18-22 amps 120v and 40-50 220v
however they usually have one breaker limiting you to X number of 120 amps

If you have that much money, and need that much light, why not use the sun? Install sky lights, or better yet.....sun tunnels. It would be free and you can still add some, abit less though, grow lights to supplement.
I like the sun tunnel idea.
Peace

Generator? Are you serious? I live in Florida and have used generators a lot after the hurricanes. Unless you are in an isolated area, you will attract a LOT of attention with the noise. They are LOUD. For 9000w of lights, you will probably need a 12,000w generator (what I have) and that will run you about $1200. Good luck.
