Are you asking about curing your harvest, or the few nugs you cut off? I trim kind of lightly myself, only trimming the leaf tips of highly resinous leaf. I see you picked up NGW shears, they kind of piss me off! You have to keep them pretty clean to operate efficiently, and adjust the pivot screw often unless you clean them up with alcohol often.Get yourself a pair of nice fiskers, and you will be doing yourself a big favor in the long run. I have alot to say about curing, so if you need help hit me up...
I was just wanting some easy quick tips on a the small harvest so I can smoke it ASAP. But if you want to give more the scoop on the curing 101, please do, I know nothing, and have only read one article on here about it.

I have had shears and so far have been really good. I have tried to keep the clean, so so far so good. I also have some Fiskers, but there old and loose and needed new ones. But if they fail, I will get a new pairs of fiskers for sure. Thanks for stopping by.

I'm Pissed that my bag seed, the 2 females I have are both Hermie's. So in 2 weeks, I am getting some Fem Seeds online for some good strains. Will start a new journal when they come in.

OK, I have been looking on Nirvana, all though they don't have all the killer strains we have in cali, there are a few I want to try out. And since summer will be over in a few months, the cool weather will enable me to grow better and faster, but I have 7 clones coming into flower in about a month.

That I should yield about 2 ounces at the least I am guessing. Then the commercial Strain will be started as the clones are in flowering. I will dump all clone if they continue to herm on me. That way my good seeds to produce seeds. But I can store the seeds off the hermie if its good bud.

stays relevant.

wtf i thought you were waiting until 11 weeks?

drying first, then curing. you're now drying. leave 'em up until the stems break, rather than bend. then cure.

I just want a small sample before I leave. Curing I meant snip, dry, cure. Sorry.

I would not dry those wispy buds until the stem snaps....That will be to dry! the time is right when the stem has a slight crackle to it when it is bent over...Just my opinion, but I rather not completely dry out those little nugs, rather sweat them in a jar a few times before they are ready for curring....And when I say sweat I mean, allow the moister of the inner matter of the nug "sweat" out its moister so that the outer part of the nug re-hydrates...This keeps the most amount of resin on the bud by not over drying the resin and making it fragile. Drying and curing correctly is quite the art, every climate is different. If you live in a high humidity zone, then you will want to "over" dry alittle and make it happen kind of quick compared to a low humidity zone, where you can take your time while you are drying on the stem, and slow the process down, preserving the delicate resin. Of course temperature and air movement take there toll on the equation also. I like to dry my nugs @ 65-70deg, with a humidity of about 20-30%. No direct air flow just a small fan blowing air under the rack of drying nugs. When you go to clip off the nugs from the stem, this is the most fragile time for the resin. I clip them into a 5 gallon Ziplock bag. If I am transferring them quickly to my patients, I sweat them in the bag, if I am keeping them to cure up, I put them into 1 or 2 quart jars in which I open to "burp" them. If they sweat out more then I expected them to, then I just simply leave the jar open for 1-12 hours depending on the situation. This process then simply gets repeated until the desired moisture level in the buds is obtained. I hope this info helps shed the light alittle on the process of moisture control of your yummy homegrown!

Daddychrisg, That was perfect. I read for a few hours last night, and was going to do something very similar to what your saying. I have a small jar that I want to sweat them starting tomorrow. The buds have been hanging for 2 days now, and I think on the third day, they will be dry enough to toss in the jar and burp them and watch for sweat, if so, leave the jar open for one more day.

Thanks big time for helpin out. Very good info to have and in ref in my 1st journal. Now I can come back and read it again and see all the info I learned! Peace

Will keep ya updated.

I am loving my new T5 so much, I think its way bright just to keep grow (blue Spectrum) bulbs in it instead of using a mix of veg and flower bulbs?

BUt so far getting good results. Thinking about lowering the light beam even lower for more light! Here are some new pics showing all the new growth on the clones. Not to mention those fucking avocado seeds. They never did shit under the shop light, but with the T5, they just grew out of no where. Then one of my Cilantro plants from 1 month ago, sprouted another seed that obviously did not get enough light on the old Shop light. So so far, there are getting the light and growth I never imagine would create such a fast response compared to my old light setup T12.

Get a T5 8 bulb for sure!
