When should I harvest where I live

I live in southwestern Ontario canada and my plants are big (6 feet tall ) and (4 feet around ) but the buds are small and thin but my plants are doing good they are all very green but I have noticed that some of the stems to the fan leaves are turning red and the burns on the leafs are going red as well. I checked my tricombs today and they all look clear and not cloudy it get to about 38 degrees at night. Does anyone have any tips of what I should do to get my buds to start thickening up or should I just let them grow longer ? When should I harvest being from southwestern Ontario ? Thanks for any impute you guys may have. I also forgot to mention that I have been using tiger bloom for flowering 2-8-4 for the past 5 days

i agree you have a way to go. plants grow in there own time not southwestern Ontario canada time. The only thing you can do to help it along is make sure NO light gets to the plant when its lights off time.

Tough to say how long they have to go but you can try to help them by covering them up on cold nights with bed sheets. This will help mitigate frost and help trap some of the heat from the day. 38 is not frost time but it is too close for comfort, especially if you live in a low spot...cold air finds the lowest point and becomes even cooler than surrounding higher ground. Make sure you cover all the way to the ground so you can capitalize on the heat from the ground.

Thanks for the advise at what temp do you think I sould cover them up at , the forecast for the next week and a half looks pretty good with a high of 26 C (79F) and a low of 10 C (51.8F) and do you think I should keep using the tiger bloom I have 2-8-4 for flowering and one more question what does the red stems on the fan leaves mean and it's also on the veins of the leaves. Thanks dude just a newbie trying to get the best harvest I can.

Ok so would a outdoor flood light be an issue if I have one near them that is motions sensitive and can come on periodically threw out the night. I doesn't shine on them or anything but they may get a little light creeping in.

Cooler temps are what these plants expect and deal with at this time of year. Anything below 45f and I personally would consider covering over night. As far as the nutes...dunno---if they are liking it then do not stop.
As far as the red stems and veins...that could be any number of things really. Because you are growing outdoors it is probably just a side effect of the cooler temps. Cooler temps change plants....that is why trees change colors!

I look at growing cannabis like this - these plants have been growing without your help for THOUSANDS of years. All we can do is fuck shit up. Feed them, and they will do fine. The cooler temps at your location is really your major concern and all you have to do to help them out is throw some bed sheets on them at night and hope for the best. Nature will do what nature does, with or without you.

Your plants know that winter is coming...they will adapt and act accordingly. Worst case scenario is you get some lower quality shit that will still smoke.

I love cannabis and I wish you luck!

are they outdoors? Im not an outdoor grower cant really help there.

if not you could risk a 24 hour dark period and start the lights at night and keep in the dark in the day Ive never tried that before and have no idea what would happen so its probably bad advice @mr sunshine knows Im sure hes tried it lol...

To answer your question the flood light is a bad idea it could get triggered to on all night or something bad its an unstable variable....and the red is most likely from the cold...cold late into flower is how you get purple leaves that trick some people into thinking you have a purple strain.

Maybe, maybe not.

Do not get too wrapped over the axle. If you think it might be a problem turn the light off...if you wanna do a semi-legit experiment then leave it alone and see what happens!

Thanks a lot for the impute dude I hope I can make them last and bring them to there full potential I just got all concerned because they look like them are not bulking up and have stopped growing they would just grow so much in the begging you could see a difference every day so I didn't know if they had stopped growing and I would lose the plant all together but it sound like them have some time to go so all these answer said it looks like them have more time so I will just sit back and watch Mother Nature take over and cover them at nights. Thanks again guys

Do you suggest that I keep using the tiger bloom 2-8-4 and for how long should I use it before stopping to cut them down and how often do you suggest I water them with straight water I have watering them about every 3 rd day all along. They are all outdoor plants by the way if I did not mention that. Thanks for you time and answers

You already have cold damage on your white hairs. The really cold nights will probably hinder growth even if you just cover it. tbh I dont see that plant doing much in the next month but getting full on cold damage. The ONLY way I see them surviving is making a greenhouse like structure around them and keeping them warm at night with a heat source.

How long have they been in flower...looks like you have a ways to go...like another month or more
And I have also read something's about giving them molasses mere the end you know anything about that ? Also does covering them up for 48 hours just before harvest really do any thing ?

I was thinking that I could wrap them in bed sheets and put a little ceramic heater underneath them to keep them warm have you ever heard of anyone doing anything like this before ? Tomorrow I will get a better picture to show you guys for sure but the advise is awesome

molasses is used to "sweetin" the flavor of the bud no idea if it works...but it would prolly just freeze things..you know molasses in winter time blah blah blah....use the tiger bloom as much as you want most people nute till about two weeks before harvest then flush for flavor reasons..again thats an opinion thing like the molasses I would nute every other water but idk about its an otdoor plant and I wouldnt consider myself the pinnacle of growing expertise I just grow for me.
