Hey guys new to this site, first of i would like to wish you all good luck with whatever present and future ventures you endevour on.

I have made the mistake of ordering barneys pinapple chunk on the site info saying it only grew between 60 and 90 cm. as i only have around 3 and half ft in height, only to read some blogs to find out that it can grow upto 6ft, and its more of sativa than an indica even though its advertised as a strong indica. this is my first grow, ive tried to perfect everything and seem to have made this stupid error. should of stuck with the vanilla kush maybe?? anyway if i could get some info experienced growing vets welcome and anybody who's ever grown barns p chunk before. is it true you can keep cutting the main stalk to prevent it growing tall??? thanks guys i look foward to your responses.

If I were you I would look into topping the plant then using a SCRG or screen of green. type set up. All there is to it topping the plant a few times so that is has many top colas then hanging a vertical screen made from chicken wire or you can buy ones made from cloth at homedepot. Then you just spread those tops out into the open area in the screes and your plants wont get as tall. Now, do you know how to induce flowering? 12hours of lights on and 12 hours of lights off. You can do this at any time. Since your space is limited you have to make the switch early enough to compensate for your plants streching. When you put your plants into flower they will continue to grow, some plants will grow 2 times their height when put into flower. I havent grown p chunk but if I remember correctly it is a hybrid so I would just keep enough space for the plant to almost double in height when put into flower. Is this understanable? If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Good Luck Dude.

first off thankyou for the reply. when you say prepare for double you mean flipping the plant from veg with the pretence of it doubling in flower, so if i had 90 cm space flip the plant at 30cm? and the scrog method, is that some kind of mesh over the pot then gently strapping the plants in the direction u wish them to grow? sorry i sound like a total newb lol ive tried to cancel the seeds i only ordered them at 630pm from a uk store i doubt they will go out til tomoz so fingers crossed.

ahh i see there's alot of info on scrog and topping, if i could pull that off it would make things alot easier, is it hard to do? i have plenty of time to spend with the plants

Don't worry, chances are your not going to get close to 6 feet. I keep mine short by letting them grow for a few months and cutting the tops off.

Topping is super easy to do. Just pinch off new leafs just below the node and you will get 2 new shoots then in you top those 2 shoots you will get 4 and so on. Easy to do and usually does not hurt the growth of the plant. I have done this method for years because I grow in a 5' tent. I usually let them grow to about 2 feet before I switch lighting. And a scrog is great for growing under artificial light because spreading out the tops allows light to reach buds that would normally be shaded out by other branches/leaves.

And when I talk about the plant doubling, If you have 60cm flip at 30cm. If you have 90cm flip at 45cm. Also figure in space for your light to hang above the plant.

If you go into the Advanced Marijuana Cultivation area you will see Uncle Ben's Topping Method or something like that. It tells you exactly how to top with pics.. Its worth looking at.

Also when you top be sure to look for the secondary branches. They're what will become the 2 new tops. Avoid damaging those. You'll be able to recognize them after the plant grows a bit. I've seen a thread or 3 here where someone got them as well. Just throwing that tidbit in there. I have no experience with scrogging but have seen it done here and in person. That seems to be the best form of control especially in small spaces. There's also mainlining. Just google nugbuckets mainlining. That'll take more veg time though. On a side note I saw some bamboo scrog screens that are adjustable at a garden center here recently. Just pull em and they widen out and the individual squares get bigger.

yh ive watched the topping videos and i know exactly what you mean. There like two little nodes either side of the stalk and you just cut above them. Ive also seen another one call fimming or something. I dont think im gonna use a scrog net because i have only one way into my tent and i think id really struggle with the amount im growing. Should i need to move certain plants

Dude, don't freak. You'll be fine. Friend of mine has done many P.Chunks (his all time favorite) I really don't think anyone can grow a six footer if not grown outdoors or in a very large pot for the roots to expand.

Not sure what lighting that your planning to use, but as you may already know, be careful not to have them too high above tops not to prevent unnecessary stretch.

Start topping as early as you begin to see the third set of leaves. This means: third set get pinched away......... Don't care what videos are out there are saying or what some others are claiming. they can handle it, and START EARLY. You'll be glad that you did.:p

After germinating seed(s) keep light very close above heads to start training it early not to grow tall if you can prevent it in anyway.

Not sure if your growing in soil or hydro...? My buddy hasn't had any (never) luck with them in DWC without having to constantly fight with root rot.

Also, this plant works very well with the bending branches downward. (BUT) just only my thought, you may just want to simply grow it out and only top it once since this will be your first grow, that way there is no need to worry about stressing her and causing herms. Keep it simple, don't worry to much, it's a weed-not as easy to kill as a lot of people make it sound like. Have fun and enjoy.
P.S. : just a stupid idea but it worked for many friends of mine, simply walk out to your back yard and find a weed of some sort that it's stem resembles a cannabis plant to practice your bending with minimal cracking.

By the way, I believe that you picked a good strain to start with. They are very simple to handle and grow - only difficult issue is it's very STRONG delicious smell.

first off i would like to thankyou for taking the time to share your knowledge, its always highly appreciated and you sound like a guy who knows his stuff.

Unfortunatly the p chunks have been swapped for original sensible chronic lights, now all the research ive done on the CL strain was all positive especially for first time growers. so im quite happy with my choice now, im using coco soil to grow with, what size pots should i use though? im growing under 3 x 600w lights now i have 40 seeds, 15 vanilla kush which i think im gonna get my friend to grow, 15 ChronicLights then i got, some free ones. amnesia x 4 afghan kush x6 critical super silver haze x 1 and sleesstack skunk x 10, now my plan is to only put 12 under 3 x 600 w lights, fair enough i could grow more but i feel 12s enough for my first. i have made my own tent out of space blankets and black and white plastics (a theory my friend used and it worked well), im just wondering is it worth chucking in any of the free seeds or shall i just keep it simple and stick with the same strain?? i might look like a bit of a plonker but i think im gonna go practice on some weeds outside.. are you from the uk bro?

.....Looks like your gonna drive yourself nuts overthinking this whole thing bud.
Plant some seeds, let them do their thing for awhile. Do some reading in the meantime.
Chill.....smoke a bowl. Its all good.

Nice choice of strains ........ You may want to start them off in plastic solo drinking party cups, to allow their roots to strengthen and once roots have taken up (some what) much of the cups area, then I would recommend transplanting them in to 1.9 gal. Plastic Nursery Containers.
Hell, fuck with your freebies for the fun of it, plant them in places that would catch the public's eye and see how long it takes before someone does something....Like pop one in the ground in the parking lot of a police dept or some old ladies flower garden where it will for sure be taken well care of since she would have no clue what it is, and when its grown nice and ready to smoke, come by at night and cut some bud and leave the plant for her to tend to for your next batch. It sounds funny, but its been done many times.
Wish I where in the UK, beats the cold here in Galena Alaska where you got to keep your nuts wrapped up tight at night. It sucks but its a pay check for now. Peace Bro:leaf:

I was actually thinking of planting the 10 skunk seeds i have in a remote field near my house lol only thing is the weather sucks in the uk but then again i doubt its anything compared to alaskas weather. Alaskas a beautiful place though

I bend everyone and I don't have space restrictions. Here's some photos in veg and in flower

No, you don't want to overthink and over nurture, but don't fall into the "it grows in ditches" school of thought, because I've smoked ditch weed and it isn't very good....

I use a lot of coat hangers to space out the buds. For each strain you will figure out how many bud sites they can handle before you lose density...the pictured one can't handle a lot of lower buds without sacrificing quality in the rest of the plant, so I grow it out like I did.

Alaska sucks a big wet one to live here. To visit is one thing but don't ever live here. Hell, where you live, the women in the UK are freaky Fine as hell. Here they all look like whales wanting to feed on anything that moves.
Be careful of the temp where your planning to grow and possible location that might be used as a wind bearer if you get high cold winds like thick brush, a tight line of trees to help break down some of the cold....?

So this is a fact then.....? if you where to cause extra bud sights, that too many will in fact lessen the strength of the bud.....? I think I have read this or heard it somewhere, not sure. But your saying that it will make a difference .....right? If so, how can I tell when I might be over doing it? I always wondered the same about topping.
