the problem with unions is it incentivises lazyness i think . take the gm saturn plant for instanse , there was a quota for cars inan 8hr time frame if they got done in 6hrs they sat on their ass for 2 hrs getting paid .i know for a fact that there are people laid off right now getting 90% of their check and getting unemployment legally because of the union

As far as I know, when you receive unemployment you get around 50% of your biweekly pay according to your previous employer and the pay period

If that's the case, how would receiving roughly 50% of your previous pay result in laziness? Especially considering 100% will likely barely skirt you by if you're in the middle class?

I think he's talking about the workers sitting on their ass for two hours while they could have been productive.

I'd like to see a valid source for that to authenticate it. If that's the case then that union was fucking up. But why would it be appropriate to associate that one specific union fucking up with all unions?

I bring that up because regardless of each individual corporation, all of them are incentivised to garner profits, regardless of what they're selling because of the nature of their business model, while not 100% of unions share the same emphasis towards their members. Just something to note in the discussion.

Sadly, it's common with many if not most unions.

A corporation cannot compel you to buy their shit. They have to provide a product or service you want at a price you are willing to pay.

That's not the issue, which is why the argument "stop buying shit" is redundant before it's ever even said..

Corporations can incur enough wealth to effectively render them immune to any legal consequences, regardless of their actions. More importantly, they can acquire enough wealth to effectively render any legal consequences moot after committing and carrying out illegal activities, effectively rendering said corporation above the law by simple way of financial superiority. Monopoly. They strong arm the legal system and pay petty fines that amount to a day in jail for their actions. You and I I'm sure would both agree that no company/corporation is/should be above the justice system, regardless of political affiliation or political influence. I lean left, but if a corporation like Microsoft wanted to oust a GOP candidate, strictly via financial means because Microsoft knows they can outbuy the election, I would oppose it! Republicans should do the same, though I have a difficult time believing they would..

We have to beat the system, systematically, before it beats us. To do that, we have to enact a constitutional amendment that outlaws the practices of crony capitalism wherever they surface, be it through corporations or unions. The American people as a whole should be the only ones to decide the outcome of elections. Corporate interests should be illegal.

Do you agree with that?

i worked for wilson mechanical years and years ago out of colorado springs doing lifecare systems nursing homes and assisted living . i was running victaulic steel and needed to remove some pipe insulation to connect to the trunk line . i began removing insulation about a 6-8 min job when the union steward walked up and said we donot do that , thats the insulators job . i waited for an hour and a half for an insulator to get there . i could have finished the hallway in that time but hell no had to wait , it put me behind, thats what a union is good for , making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Because you keep repeating bullshit numbers with no concept of them.

I am not going to take the time to explain it to you. Even if I did you would continue to repeat your old tired alcoholic crap like my dead mom. Too much work for so little entertainment.
i'm just repeating your numbers.

you said you made $100k in four years, then sold it for $50k, thereby making $200k in profit.

that means that you had negative $50,000 in operating expenses, taxes, and the like.

we all really wanna know how you did that.

Dude, you can literally spin that any way you want depending which camp you come from..

"Insulator didn't show up for an hour! WTF? I could have done it better, faster!" -your camp

"Insulator should have been there beforehand! WTF?" -his camp

"Insulator was there but I would have done a much better job, didn't even need the fuck!" - that camp

"Insulator came, but fucked everything up, should have hired me as insulator!" -other guys camp

....

....

Maybe regulations prevented you from doing said job and union steward knew? Who knows? Not you, not I.. where does speculation get us? The exact same place we're at now.. so why bother?

Said example says nothing about unions.

There is only so much to go around, aka money supply-
I'd suggest you stop thinking of wealth in finite terms. Bill Gates doesn't make billions by making you earn less. Our pie that we all eat from can grow bigger everyday under the right circumstances. I think we both agree that today's economic climate isn't exactly the best circumstances anymore, but I'd bet we differ on the issues.

Grow your own slice, it doesn't mean you are taking from someone else, honest.

Unfortunately, that wouldn't end crony capitalism, it would only shift the structure of power to another individual/institution and the problem would remain the same

What are your thoughts on enacting a 28th amendment to the constitution based on these guidelines?;

"Corporations are not people. They have none of the Constitutional rights of human beings. Corporations are not allowed to give money to any politician, directly or indirectly. No politician can raise over $100 from any person or entity. All elections must be publicly financed."
I don't think we need an amendment as much as we need to fix corporate law. I have an independent home health contract that I make maybe 15-20K a year on after hours. I deduct 15-20K a year in expenses sometimes more. I usually pay at the end of the year but my first year with the business I was actually able to cut my taxable income in half that year. I only made 10K extra, but deducted much more than that. I don't agree with the rules, but I'll be damned if I won't take advantage of the ones that are there.

for what its worth it was insulation , insulation does not hold water /steam is not under pressure and does not require a minimum toleerance to install . one just slaps it up peel the sticky off and tape , it wasnt a matter of who did what the best or better it was about work productivity and 3 men standing around twiddling thumbs an d me getting behind
