Any of you folks who have been to one of these events in the past, what is it like? I'm trying to decide on whether or not it's worth driving out to the one in the Traverse area since it would be at least a four hour drive for me (probably more like 5 hours knowing the way my wife has to stop every hour to pee lol) and it would cost me quite a bit of gas/lodging money. I'm thinking about just skipping this next one and attending the next one in Grand Rapids (GR is just a little over a 90 minute drive from where I live in Detroit) only instead of going to both conferences. Is it comparable to the MMM Expo at The Roostertail? Could we all have a brief description of what the Conference is like? What kind of classes/seminars are there? What is the size of this event like? Has there been police interference in the past? What kind of crowd does this event draw out? What are the ticket prices? Anything else you feel like describing?



Perhaps I can volunteer or donate some clones or something this time around to help out. I will definitely remember to bring those wallet-card herb grinders this time so you can slap a SeedPac sticker on each one and give them to people. I was lucky enough to get 2 display racks full of them for free. Pretty cool and quick yet completely off topic story on how I got the card grinders:

Went into a local gas station to buy a drink and when I saw them on the counter I asked the cashier how much they were charging for them because everywhere else I saw selling them were asking ridiculous rip-off prices. He responded with "Why? Do you want some?". I told him no thanks, I was just asking because I was curious but I couldn't really afford anything like that at the time. He responded with "No, here just take them" and pulled out a plastic bag and stuck BOTH display cases full of them into the bag, then he asked me with his choppy-English Arabic accent "Do you like crushers too?" as he made a hand rotating motion, implying he was talking about herb grinders. I said "hell yea I like them!" and he proceeded to pull about 25 brand new grinders out of one of the cabinets behind the counter, and put them into the bag, then said "Here, take some glass smoking pipes too!" and stuck about 15-20 glass spoon bowls into the bag, then said "That will be a dollar and eighty nine cents please" as I was trying to pick my jaw up off the floor because of this totally awesome kind and selfless act I had just had the pleasure of being gifted. I didn't know what to say besides "Thank you man! Thank you so much! I have alot of people who will be very happy to have some of this stuff." Ever since then, I've been throwing glass pipes and grinders in as free gifts whenever one of my patients picks meds up from me, and giving them away to my toker friends. The thought crossed my mind that he may have been in the middle of robbing the place, with the real cashier tied up in the back room or something and he was just trying to get me to leave as soon as possible but then I remembered that he operated the register like he had been doing it for a long time and he behaved perfectly calm and cool, the exact opposite of how the average crook-in-the-middle-of-armed-robbery would behave.

But yea, sorry for the ADD fueled tangential rambling! lol I'm kinda baked so forgive me for wasting your time with my story lol

But seriously, it would be a pretty cool way to promote SP at the conference. If I decide not to go, I could ship them to you if you are actually interested. I can pay shipping costs for them but I would take them all out of the display cases to save a few bucks on shipping costs.

All over priced bs if you ask me. I had a ballast failure so i picked one up in Cadillac for 116$ out the door. went to the conference at the resort seen the exact same one double the price. Its one of those places vendors go to take advantage of people.

Did you grab a free medicated massage at the grow store? Maybe some free genetics? Catch up with the latest work buy tru breeders like Mota Rebel? Maybe signed up with the human solution at that grow store??

Nothin but vultures for sure.

Yes I didnt even go to this one because the last one was such bs I figured why waste my time.some asshole tried selling neem oil saying it doubled yield. I say "what about the neem tree seeds you have how much for those?" "Oh they aren't for sale just this 15ml bottle for 50$" 1500 dollar experimental lights. that save you money. neem that increases yield and a ton of bongs. every head shop in the state is there every grow store was there all prises were jacked up. all I got were business cards and fliers. Oh a free lighter.

Ever since I became a marijuana patient and caregiver I have been ripped off more than buying the drug off the street. I get ripped off with equipment,products, genetics you name it. Luckily my band of brothers and I help each other out. If somebody is low on plants we get them clones or full size plants. Somebody needs meds we get them meds. Someone wants seeds we all get together and figure out what we have first, then make an order so can have a new gene pool. Its not hard to help people for free that need it

Oh yes it's much cheaper to buy off the street when you account for all the ripoff artist out there selling you overpriced equipment.

You should have grabbed a booth there & spread some of your resources around. Plenty of people were looking for help but they all walked away with $232 ballasts instead.

I had motarebel beans back in 2010. Got them when he was with sannie and crew. I can order off his website anytime dont need to go to a convention for that.It would have been cool to meet him though.

been a vendor and been a patron. its a conference, and a show. If you're going just to collect free stuff it might not be the right spot for you. vendors aren't vultures but they do pay a substantial fee to be there and its not unreasonable for them to want to recoup on that. as a patron you can get a glass pipe blown while you watch, you can pick up some lights that are not deeply discounted but are top of the line. you can buy beans from all over. you can get catalogs of beans that you'd never get all the way through, and most importantly you get information. I feel this is aimed at non-card and new patients looking at getting a card or grow started. in that respect its a good show, you can chat all day and learn some shit. as a vendor....I'd expect this to be a loss leader for your company. not many people even know what to expect when they go and are users of mary, not growers. most growers are small 12 plants just for me-type operations so vendors aren't connecting with the warehouse growers like they'd like. the light guy may sell one or two. the seed guy with low prices should do OK and pipe guy looked like he did well too. but as for light guy hooking up with the guy running a warehouse looking to upgrade his light system as a whole- Pipe dream. for both sides networking is huge at this place and you could fill a Rolodex in short order giving out and getting tons of business cards. my $0.02
