I dont advocate letting anyone die in the street. We have medicaid for people who need medical help but are destitute. There are both public and private shelters and I could go on and on about public assistance.

We need to functionally change how we handle retirement. However, the government is bound and determined to take over healthcare and other things and it is going in the wrong direction.

so less government involvement in health care is the right direction?

seems like we tried that and ended up paying more than all other nations who have more government involvement, lower costs, and universal coverage.

do you have any examples of wealthy nations who have lower costs, universal coverage, and LESS government involvement that the rest of us do not know about?

I know in Canada the wait time for a MRI was something like 3 months, so those who could afford it would come to the US to get one done. If the coverge is greater, the quality of care will go down.
