i've talked to a lot of "doctors", and from what i understand, if it's a legitimate rape, the woman's body shuts that whole thing down.

If someone is willing to drop criminal charges and settle for a huge sum of money instead it is opportunism, rapists belong in prison and the victim has an ethical obligation to protect the public.

Rape comes in many varieties, from Aggravated Forcible Rape, to Statutory rape, and only the mildest "rape" charges are class 4 felonies, like a 17 year old broad who is willingly sleeping with her 20 year old boyfriend despite her parent's disapproval.
when you get down to what Whoopi Golberg considers "RAPE rape", you have charges ranging from forcible sodomy, aggravated sexual assault, assault with intent to cause serious bodily harm, often in conjunction with False Imprisonment, Kidnapping, attempted murder, use of a weapon in a felony, etc etc, which changes the game.
"RAPE Rape" is completely different from charges laid under statute without a "victim's" participation in the prosecution, or even against the "Victim's" wishes, and the penalties are substantially more serious.

It is a total surprise that abortion is illegal anywhere in the U.S. People are actually stupid enough to see a rape pregnancy as a gift from God and sacred.
