Advanced LED Lights 5w XTE (early buy special)

I would ask what bin the LED's are.

For those prices I'd also want more transparency about where they purchase their Crees. Are they acquired by the Evergreen factory from sources in China? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, "everyone in the supply chain says they're Cree... so we're not lying when we repeat what our partners tell us."

I read through Eraserhead's posts here and I recall reading that he had a bad experience with the veracity of bin numbers and things from Chinese sources. Maybe it was someone else. But, A51's FAQ says they buy from Digikey and Mouser. I forget if he ships his chips to the factory for assembly, or buys cases and fans from China and assembles here. I wish he was a little clearer about this on his web page. He went into detail about it in some of his posts 2 years ago. But, that's a long time ago.

Jeff at Area 51 will tell you the bins. That kind of info is usually on the web site but he has been having big problems with his current site so the site is missing many things it once had. He's building a new web site and it will have all the old info plus more once he gets it up. He's in the middle of moving his operation so many things got put on hold.

could you tell me specifically what lights you had a hard time with? Dont get me wrong, I do believe and understand your point of view. I'm just curious what the origins of it are. From my perspective it seems you just have an inherent distrust of asian products for no real logical explanation besides one time you bought an unimpressive one that was built there. In China's defense, the Advance LED's do use CREE LED's which are likely produced in one of CREE's multiple manufacturing plants in Asia.

taotronics 240w

and two chinese ufos 180w each.

a lot of the difference between straight chinese and the other lights I have are the quality of each led.

I would put my 2 cents in I own an Apache tech 600 watt and you get what you pay for definitely 17 oz's 1st grow 3'x4.5'x6' flowering room 5 gallons soil smart pots. I looked into advanced personally they do look very nice just cant find any journals on them really. They do look very promising if they have a risk free trial why not :bigjoint:

I wouldn't have spent as much money as I have if I didn't already try them.

I just wanted to update you guys, just got my shipping and I am pretty stoked. I unboxed the 100w and plugged her in, she looks brighter than a 300w. They also have these knobs on them similar to light dimmers. I am super stoked, I am so glad I got these lights they just keep getting better and better. THere is more than a noticeable difference to me. I will post some pictures and what not if its wanted.

I think they're driven around 78/80% when turned all the way up.
Looks like 6 624nm and 2 IR LED's (Epistar?) along with the Osram 660's.

One thing I don't like is they didn't send anything to explain how to dial in the seasons. Like in the video they show spring summer fall etc but no explanation on how to do it. I know with a little common sense I could figure it out but I like knowing since they are the ones who came up with the "science" behind it.

That's a problem as it's a major 'selling point' for the new light. They need to get that fixed so that it's very straightforward. Very interested in your thoughts on these as you get some time with them.

Luckily they have more than one selling point on the new model. :D even if they had the same old 2 button system I would be satisfied with this light. From my own perception it looks a hell of a lot brighter, it may be a trick though and so I will be doing a 1/2 / 1/2 tent with 100w on each side. One of the 3w 100w and one 5w 100w.

Didn't word that the best. It's a selling point, but clearly not the only selling point. My point better stated is documentation is an easy fix and helps tie the product to their video demo. I'd be a bit frustrated as a new customer to buy it and then have to figure all that out myself when the video makes it look seemless.

I'm interested in the lights and will watch to see how they perform and review. They are more expensive than the A51 options - and I'm very happy with my 4 RW-75. Not prohibitively expensive, but not a bargain either. I'm in the market for another 300 watts of light or so later this year - these are definitely on the watch list.

sorry was highly medicated, I have two xte 100 and 20. Will try to get you information as soon as possible brother.

vipar/evergrow leds were top notch IME. i got mine directly from evergrow, but i ordered 5.

also got to choose my spectrum, which was pretty boss. 5:1 red:blue, a 3k and 5k white
and 740 IR.

I prefer to let scientists with degrees do the work for me. Not saying you made a bad decision at all I would just rather have someone else do the guess and check work so I can just set and forget.

all that blue is great for veg but for flower? imo all the blue you need in flower is in those white chips just add moar red!

i think the amount of red to blue in this light worked extremely well for both veg and flower

dj short's vanilluna, this is the pheno gypsy uses to sell the seeds @ bou.
sometimes she comes out crazy variegated.

and an agent orange in veg, four of these were vegged under ~135w of

and i fudged the spectrum, derp. found the actual sheet i sent to them,
the 66 on the bottom is supposed to say 660, they knew what i meant.
