kinda reminds me of how about 50% of americans are against torturing enemy combatants in war, but about 97% of americans are against torture of AMERICANS during war.
polling can tease out some interesting and odd peculiarities about human nature.

But is it really human nature being measured, or the methodology's evocation of particular answers (i.e. bias)? For example, the order of questions can have an impact on types of answers received. In which case, it behooves one to inquire more carefully into the underlying structure of studies, especially in this age of easy statistical abuse obscured in mountains of data and specialized jargon.

nate @ 538 has it at 57.9% for the republicans to take control of the senate, which is not as good as they were hoping for just a few months ago.
and with almost a month to go, a lot could happen.
all we need is for a republican to share his sage rape wisdom and the senate is ours for a few more years.
