Chemdogs are both at day 13 from sprouting.
The bigger Berry Ryder is at 14 days from sprout, smaller one is 13 days from sprouting.
All 3 Northern Lights are at 11 days from sprouting.
Lightly watered last night with root juice n sensizym to get some more activity down n the soil. I know everyone says don't top autos but I topped one of the NL just to see how it responds to it...
All of the ladies are officially at least 2 weeks old today:
This berry Ryder was the first to sprout and has remained one of the most vigorous of the 7:
Here's the northern lights that got topped last night - she is the smallest of the 7 so I figured there wasn't much to lose: Before and after
The 2nd pic of the topped NL is from this morning - about 12 hours after she was topped.
Sorry about the excessive pictures - I'm just really excited bout this lmao...
I pulled pics of the best plants of each strain I'm running (best chem, best br, best NL...) and made progression images of their changes in the last 10 days...
10 Day Change:
Had the lights on 21/3 from the start. The fan kicks off when the lights do to keep the temp from dropping too much during the 3 hours of dark. Temps stay about 82f throughout the day, and drop to ~72f during the dark period. I'd like to drop down to 18/6 eventually, but I gotta figure out how to keep my temps from getting too cold for 6 hours - really don't want to suffocate them with the fans off that long.
Still foliar feeding a couple times a day. Saw a couple light burn spots on the edges but nothing terrible. I needa get a new spray bottle to fill w/ just ph'd water and wash off some of the salt that's building up on their leaves...
Hit them with silica blast, root juice and sensizym again - no veg nutes for this watering...Haven't noticed any signs of a deficiency n I'd prefer to keep them a little hungry rather than really burnt. Prob do plain ph'd water for the next watering, then grow/veg nutes, 1 more plain water, and then start the bloom nutes since they'll most likely be entering the flowering phase by then (will be ~week 5-6).
This is what I'll be using for bloom in several weeks:
Ay I appreciate it man. She's coming around sloowly lol. She actually thinks the plants are "beautiful" just not a fan of what we do with them haha...becoming legal n trying to hit it from the alcohol angle is working pretty good
Kind of regretting defoliating those 2. I think I'm actually gonna leave them alone for the rest of the grow, and if anything needs to be 'adjusted' I'll just tie it to the side or something...Still interested to see what happens w/ the NL that was topped. Everyone told me repeatedly "DONT TOP AUTOS" but I think it was early enough to see a nice recovery and maybe a nice extra cola to go along w/ it...People also told me not foliar feed with the lights on (but I do it twice a day), not to feed silica blast at 1.5 weeks old (did it..lmao), and even not to grow autos...Guess when it comes down to it, it's better to learn through your own failures or successes than to just nod along w/ the herd
Both berry ryders have about half inch long white hairs coming out at 20 days from sprout. I know the advertised 65 days from seed is gonna be a little premature but they are def maturing fast. Might be done sooner than I was anticipating
Thanks man - just switched to HPS last night since they're all putting out pistols...Gotta figure out how to get decent pics now...prob have to take them out for photos or something...
Or turn off the HPS and take pics in the dark before the light goes on or shortly after it goes out (those minutes really don't matter).
Tip: water the medium / root zone, not the plant itself, i.e. stop spraying.
Plants look great though (apart from the one poor (ahum, edit: ) girl you pulled the wings off ). Instead of topping you could pinch 'n snap 'n bend the main/terminal shoot/bud to bring it down to the level of the lower shoots. It has pretty much the same effect as topping, except you don't lose anything so more suitable for autos than topping.
