I'm not really looking for an individual keeper male at the moment to make some seed stock (I have thousands, breeding for individual specific traits on top of the regular which limits the candidates making it quite easy to select) but I appreciate the offer, I may take you up on that some day. Always interesting to hear what others have to say about selecting males, especially someone with the balls to call himself Dr. But as you say, the testing never ends, and that's a good thing, keeps it interesting.
I promised I wouldn't bring this up again but, I just asked one of the most well-known and oldest breeders on the planet about the male hermie, his answer:
"Yes I have seen it.
The reason they seem to be less prevalent is because not many people keep many different male clones the way they do females. If you select enough males and keep them around you will find intersex in them, at least in many varieties."
