Hell, for right now, because of the condition of your set up, you don't even need the box. No lie
Ya thats prolly ur best bet till u get a light I don't think temps r what's gonna cause shock the direct sun may b more of an issue but idk what ur outside temps r now either but to keep on veggin due that put outside till sun starts to set the throw under ur light inside but I personally do 18 \6 but some ppl swear by a 24 hr light period IMO I think plants need that dark period but it all depends who ur talking to but both work a give good resultsJust watered her with 6.1 ph water and put her out in the sun for direct light. I saw a post on here where someone said if ur going from indoor to outdoor like that to let the plant only set out for 15-20 mins so it won't shock due to temp change but my plant stays in the sunroom and on average it stays around 78. I wanna leave it outside until the sun comes down and then move it back into the "grow box" with the light until sun comes up again. Any suggestions?
Well I just ordered me a Apollo Horticulture 600 Watt MH HPS Grow Light System from ebay and it will be here in several days Tuesday the latest. Gonna clear out our storage room in the basement and throw my set up on a table and hook all my lights and everything up. Any suggestions you could give me as far as length of light from top of plant and things of that natureYa thats prolly ur best bet till u get a light I don't think temps r what's gonna cause shock the direct sun may b more of an issue but idk what ur outside temps r now either but to keep on veggin due that put outside till sun starts to set the throw under ur light inside but I personally do 18 \6 but some ppl swear by a 24 hr light period IMO I think plants need that dark period but it all depends who ur talking to but both work a give good results
If ur plant is young start ur light farther away and move it down but no closer than about a foot at the absolute closest I use a 600 and have no cool tubes or anything I feel u lose some intensity from them and won't go any closer than that but being its the first hid its gonna c either dim it down if u can and work up or just start about 2 ft away but if u c them starting to stretch real bad I'd start moving the light closer and get a fan to comp for the heat or ac if u canPpl keep telling me to get Fox Farm nutrients since I use Fox Farm soil, should I stick within the same brand or does it really matter? I like the FloraNova series from General Hydroponics but then again I haven't used anything else
Just went n checked on her and she's all wilted up and looking very weak. I don't know if I'm underwatering or over waterting or what. She's in a gallon size self watering planter and yesterday she got 8 cups of 5.8 ph water with no nutes. Got my cfl on her with the fan and still losing herIf ur plant is young start ur light farther away and move it down but no closer than about a foot at the absolute closest I use a 600 and have no cool tubes or anything I feel u lose some intensity from them and won't go any closer than that but being its the first hid its gonna c either dim it down if u can and work up or just start about 2 ft away but if u c them starting to stretch real bad I'd start moving the light closer and get a fan to comp for the heat or ac if u can
put your hand at top canopy level hold for 30 sec may b less if u feel pretty good heat then either need to raise or get fan or ac to counter heat
and for nutes I mean they are prolly made to comp!iment each other the ff soil and nuets and work together but flora nova will due just fine IMO I'd stick with what u know
Was the soil mostly dry down a couple inches before watering ?Just went n checked on her and she's all wilted up and looking very weak. I don't know if I'm underwatering or over waterting or what. Yes before I water I stick my finger down in the soil and if it's dry up to my knuckle then I waterWas the soil mostly dry down a couple inches before watering ?
Imo 5.8 is a bit low pH for soil go about 6.5 and they will wilt in either situation the overwsyer the stem and fan leaf will be wilted but under water the stem to fan leaf will be in normal position and leaf will wilt but if under watered usually will come around with in an hour or two after watering if ur putting in water and it's draining right out your soil may be to dry and need to add a surfactant to help absorb or try setting in a few inches of water in pan so can absorb from bottom up and do at own rate but I would not do either of these till u know the issue BC those self watering pots can sometimes cause probs and maybe sitting in water at bottom and that could b issue I'd get a pot with just a bunch a holes in bottom so u can b sure moist to bottom and know roots are able to breathJust went n checked on her and she's all wilted up and looking very weak. I think it might be the pot that I got to grow it in. Im going to wal mart tomorrow and buying some better pots to put her inImo 5.8 is a bit low pH for soil go about 6.5 and they will wilt in either situation the overwsyer the stem and fan leaf will be wilted but under water the stem to fan leaf will be in normal position and leaf will wilt but if under watered usually will come around with in an hour or two after watering if ur putting in water and it's draining right out your soil may be to dry and need to add a surfactant to help absorb or try setting in a few inches of water in pan so can absorb from bottom up and do at own rate but I would not do either of these till u know the issue BC those self watering pots can sometimes cause probs and maybe sitting in water at bottom and that could b issue I'd get a pot with just a bunch a holes in bottom so u can b sure moist to bottom and know roots are able to breath
Ya I've seen them cause issues just get a cheep pot that's got holes in bottom to drain this will also let u when u got run off and how quickly water is going through soil but when u get fill that up with soil dry if u got it and lift it so u know the about weight when it completly dry then saturate the soil lift it up it will b much heavier so u know when its fully saturated and this will help determine how bad water is really neededI think it might be the pot that I got to grow it in. Going to Wal-Mart tomorrow. Did u see the pic I just posted. Ima get some 2 or 3 gallon pot holders with the holes. With that said how much water should I give the plant with a 2 or 3 gallon pot holder?Ya I've seen them cause issues just get a cheep pot that's got holes in bottom to drain this will also let u when u got run off and how quickly water is going through soil but when u get fill that up with soil dry if u got it and lift it so u know the about weight when it completly dry then saturate the soil lift it up it will b much heavier so u know when its fully saturated and this will help determine how bad water is really needed
Well it being that young its hard to see the over or under water example as described a few posts a go but I'm gonna say its over watered but other than transplant to new spot even like a clear 20 oz pop bottle would work with top cut off then can watch when roots start to become to much for container but idk if I'd do that as its still real young you can do it just !UST b really gentle not to injure stem or the few roots she got but tommorow when u do b very careful bury up to those cotyledonsit's wilting all the way down nowView attachment 3200865
Someone mentioned perlite or a root grower to help make the roots stronger and longer?Well it being that young its hard to see the over or under water example as described a few posts a go but I'm gonna say its over watered but other than transplant to new spot even like a clear 20 oz pop bottle would work with top cut off then can watch when roots start to become to much for container but idk if I'd do that as its still real young you can do it just !UST b really gentle not to injure stem or the few roots she got but tommorow when u do b very careful bury up to those cotyledons
