did i read it yes

not all of it but the first page .............i thought about building something but no i know better after the last time

i tend to miss something or over do it and it cost me 3 times the amount it would of if i just had gotten it done ............
I covered a 4x6 area two xml 350s from http://www.advancedledlights.com/ it is total over kill but i was replacing 1000 watts so why not. whatever you get man you are going to love the deference between HID and LED. I started using hybrid systems about seven years ago and just went all LED this year. when do you decide?

me the heat issuse became a factor one to many times .......hydro roots got cooked and the the soil showed heat stress ........poor ac has not been off in 6 weeks

the area i was had more ac coming in so i could make do with watching and tweaking .............but i moved it to a closed in area so the ac for the house does not help cool it anymore ..........they are starting to stink now so i need to hook in the carbon filter but when i do that the temp raise bu 7 degrees in the tent ..............as now it just under that 78 mark (plant lvl) vent point is reading 82

It amazes me spending 2k on four xgs 190 for under 80 watts of output.

if heat is a big issue absolutely go with leds, would be even better to have external ballasts.

xgs-190 is dual mode 100w veg/ 195w bloom I thought, so 4 of them would equal 400w veg and 780w bloom and cost $1900 which if you called they probably give It to you cheaper that's more total watts than at600 at same price point.

You guys act like a51'a are feather light.
At200= 15lb...X4= at600=60lb

A51= 12lb... X4= 48lb.

And the wattage difference means nothing if they perform the same. It has been said that the RW150 will perform just as Well with 40 less watts....so not sure if the extra wattage I the xgs is worth it compared to the at600 or RW150's.

MULTIPLE fixtures with more holding/distributed points is NOT the same as a SINGLE at600 70lb fixture=== we don't wanna discuss the physics of this too, do we??????lol

You may be right about spreading the weight as long as the weak point of the tent is not the corner connection.

this is all moot if u own a gorrilla tent

yes 300 lbs is for real ..............240 lbs 6 foot can grab and hang
secret jardin.............they list as 150 lbs

again area51 and AT............no way in hell i am spending that amount of money for 1 light ............they are selling it for 2/3 profit

i found a nice one on the sites they want 1600 for it from the maker they want 500

so the choice is now off the DIY guy or off the markers and skip those 2nd personsellers that mark it up

if u got a linkto the makers i can contact directly i will try it ........................but area51 and AT are rip offs (unless they using gold soder they are chargeing u a shit load of money for no reason)

I wouldnt mind hearing the physics behind it, how is 4 seperate units better than a single unit when they are all supported by the same 4 vertical load bearing supports? If the single unit was only supported by a single support line that would be different but when they all have the same outermost support point the inner support is meaningless because the load is transferred immediately to the vertical load bearing supports with the single unit while the 4 seperate units contribute weight to the innermost horizontal support where there is no vertical support.

Justugh...A 5x5 is tough and only a few brands have been shown to perform with the 1K hps. Best of luck with what you found/like. Hope it's a winner for you.

Have you seen how it's hung/distributed?...

Literally just like 4 smaller units. And AT's ballast like hangers have multiple attachment ways that other led's. They are just like ballast handle/hangers basically.

IMO performance is where the difference will be determined between one big or multi small units. I would like to see it...oh wait...isn't that my next run? One better than guesses and opinions. Let's test it.

Curious about your comment here... what height are you running them at? I try to keep mine around 18", and have trouble covering my 5x5 with two DS XML 350s. In fact, I just picked up two 150s to help fill in areas that weren't getting enough light.

Okay, let's rewind a bit. You posted this thread to help you choose the best LED because you were uninformed on the subject. We, the users of LED's, answered your questions politely, and gave you good advice about AT, and A51. You then proceeded to tell us that we're stupid for paying AT and A51 "high prices", and that you found something else on your own, anyways. So even though you've never used an LED, and you were asking for our help, you still know more than us? Can you see how foolish that makes you look and sound?

Oooops.....................this is just another instance of me opening my big mouth before knowing the facts!! must be a bitch to raise and lower though with all those separate hangers? or no......

anyways I blame the usual RIU excuse ======= I was high / drunk/ snorted coffee creamer/etc..........add in what you like

So the OP has one of the best tents on the market , yet wants to buy mediocre lighting ==== that makes sense:P reasonable priorities.....lol
