Need help deciding on a setup for small grow room

I have a 4'x4'x7' closet space to utilize.

I'd like to grow enough to supply at least 2 oz. each month (3 month grow = 6 oz yield). I'd really like to get about 3 oz., but I can settle for 2.

I am pretty set on using t5s for veg, but I am not certain for flowering. My closet runs kinda warm in the summer. I'd really like to use t5s for veg and flower, if it's more economical.

So, how many plants, and lumens would I need for a 4'x4'x7' space with t5s in flowering stage? If your suggestion is HID, I should probably say I don't want to invest a ton on temp control and I need to keep my electric bill down. I'll probably consider HID down the road for the winter months.

Led causes no heat issues, and keeps your electric bill much lower than HID :) it is an investment, but one that is no risk, and high reward.

skip the t-5s

600 hps for veg and flower, or 600 mh for veg and 600 hps for flower

you will easily reach your goal

buy a 6 inch centrifugal fan cooling problems solved

So, how many plants should I grow in the space with a 600w hid? I'm growing seeds from some bud I got. From what I can tell it seems like a sativa/indica blend, but that's really all I know.

As for the centrifugal fan, would a diy version suffice or is there a markable difference in performance?

A DIY exaust and intake are easy to do using a 25 dollar inline fan. and if you have a 4x4 grow area the 600 watt hid will cover as many as you can fit in there. I personally would perfer 3 or 4 large plants. I use a 400 watt in a 3'x3' area, and I always do 2 five foot plants.

What about a 400w system? I could block off a foot of the room, if needed. That's more around my electricity range for now.

I was looking at this system. I'm not really excited about spending money, and I thought this might be a good novice lamp. I'm bipolar, I use herb to calm my overactive mind. Because of this I get crazy ideas and pick up new hobbies all the time. So, I don't want to invest in anything too expensive in case this is just a wild hair lol. (edit) I looked up the temps of these lights and they are 2100K for the HPS and 4200 for the MH. Is that close enough to the ideal 2700 and 6500 ranges? (/edit)

Dude if your budget is loose enough, why not go with an led? They do more per watt. And so much less on the electric

Unlike the women I run with, I am not loose enough :lol: (completely kidding.... maybe). I like the idea of LEDs, but I don't really know much about them. I'd really have to go towards the cheap side of things. The 400w hps won't kill me as far as electric, it will get a good start up going. This is mainly a personal grow, but my friends are always needy. So if I make a little money it will cover the electric cost, and I'll be able to save for nice LEDs (one day). On the cheaper LEDs, I have seen people complain about things like having to add up to 500w of consumed power for their LEDs to yield the same as their 600w hps. It's a newer technology that I am completely inexperience with, basically.

I've been thinking about my setup, and I think I have the resources to diffuse the temp situation. The room connected to the closet is just storage. So, I can run a air straight from the vent that's like a foot away from the closet. I am going to install an inline fan, and have another fan in the room for circulation (if needed). All in all, the HID seems more fail safe as far as yield goes. But I'm not neglecting the LED idea. When I get a mother, I will probably purchase an LED for her. :)

Would there be an advantage to hps for both veg and flower?
Also, I would prefer a 400w setup, would that be skimping too much?

i just set my brother up with and auto pot 150 w hps 1x1 meter grow space he just pulled off 4 pants about 5 ounces hit me up if u want the plans i did it for him for under 90 bucks

auto pots are ok i gave up on em as i hand feed in soil these days ditched the whole auto feed it more about perso these dayz but there not bad u can leave for a week or so my brother does
