So folks, those of you that have seen my recent thread will be familiar with my setup, but for ease of reference....:
Medium: Canna Coco, 15 litre pots
Nutes: Canna coco a&b, Buddhas Tree bloom additives
Light: 600W HPS (dimmed to 400W on hot days!)
Plants:
1x Auto La Diva
1x Auto Flash Babylon
1x Photo Super Lemon Haze (ohhhhhh yeah baby)
1x Photo Blueberry (one for the missus)
The autos are mid flower, with the flowers still gaining length at the moment. I'm hoping the La Diva is 2-3 weeks off harvest, as the leaves are getting damn frosty now. Flash Babylon seems a little further behind but has got so many side colas I actually can't count them, so I have high hopes for yield, but little sign of frosting as yet.
I'm growing these four plants in a 120cm square by 2m tall tent, and space is getting to be a problem. I have LSTd, supercropped, and done what I can to keep vertical growth down, but now it's all getting too bushy and the photos are starting to obscure the auto buds!
Worse than that, I opened up the tent just now to find water on the leaves of the photos where leaves are touching, presumably from transpiration that isn't getting blown off by the two circulation fans and the extraction fan I have in there.
Now, I know the solution to this - MORE FANS, MORE AIRFLOW! But this comes at a cost, in that the grow is already generating a huge amount of noise.
So my first question to the community is this:
What tips and tricks can you give me for positioning, fixing, angling fans that will not resonate through the floor as they do if I clip them to the obvious place - the edge of the waste tray, pointing up through the canopy to blow fresh intake air upwards and outwards. Thoughts so far have included installing a block of celotex to clip fans to, or even putting a huge slab of celotex right underneath the tent. Any thoughts on this, or other ideas?
My second question is to do with the increasing space battle. My photos are just starting to show their sex now, with preflower hairs sticking out on most bud sites (yay!). This tells me the stretch is about to get going on a serious rate. I am struggling for more horizontal room, as I've already LSTd and supercropped quite a bit. I fear eventually I am going to run out of vertical space. Is there anything else I can do to try and control the growth? Would removing some lower growth which is not getting sufficient light slow the plants overall growth? If so would it have an impact on flowering time? Would removing this lower growth help with the transpiration and humidity (50-60% RH) issues? Last thing I want is mould!
My hope is that the autos will be finished before this becomes a real serious problem, and I can then utilize the horizontal space created, but this leads my to my final question, can I continue to supercrop and LST 3-4 weeks into the flowering period without detriment to the plants?
Sorry - big post with lots of questions! Thanks in advance...
