Hey Easty! Top job on that mako man, frosty as and looks like she finished up great. Nice and
ripe!

Dropping to a 250w? That's a rare thing in the "bigger is better" world of cannabis cultivation. You know me mate
I am a firm supporter of small wattage gardens, I'm sure you're going to kill it!

Chipper, good to see you back too. Looks like you haven't missed a beat either, beautiful garden mate!

Edit: I will add my own vote to perlite over all. I think the air/water ratio of a perlite medium outperforms coco IME.

Hey mate, Just a few pics of the progress in my tent. Pics not the best, taken of my phone. Lost the camera when moving house.

The JH on left is a lot slower in it's flowering. Middle is the Space Dawg and Cotton Candy on right.

It is a little hard to see in these crappy phone pics but the Space Dawg as huge resin production already. Cant quite put my finger on the smell yet. SubCool's not wrong when he says he goes for resin production!!

The Cotton Candy is one fast growing plant. I popped the seed about 3-4 weeks after the other two. She also got quite a stretch to come 12/12. Those little white specks on the leaves are some tiny little moth, don't know what they are, but it is to late to do any thing about I think. They don't really seem to be affecting any of my girls to much though!

Thanks for letting me hijack your page buddy!!!
Chipper...mate, they are some very beautiful plants you got! It's amazing to see the different JH pheno's too, they are pretty different to each other. At least all the pheno's of JH are awesome too so you dont have to worry there :-D the cotton candy and space dawg look like they will pack some punch too! Keep up the good work man and definitely feel free to keep posting pics in here :-D

@ chipper I'll go straight perlite then ! Gotta see how it works that for me.. I'll try and do a side by side clone experiment in the future. JH and Cotton candy look lovely man. They will yield quit a lot :) .

@ easty lovely yield there mate. It will last quite a while and it will be even better when you get the buds cured. I can see the difference already , a month after the Green-O..:) I gotta end this grow and change house .. Im thinking to move out myself tho I don't know if its the right thing to do with all the crisis thing going on here. I'd like to pop more seeds too.. Not the right time tho. I wish we could start seeds at the same time to find that blue Shiva pheno heh :D
Good idea man, you won't look back with perlite.
I had my system running for 15 mins every 4 hours to start with and then every 3 hours from about week 2-3. The perlite would fully dry out in that time too and that may be why i had some nute burn...not too sure hey.
Mate I wont be doing any grows until later in the year or early next year now, my mrs and i decided on the weekend it was time to move house so my kids can have a yard to play in. Having plants growing just adds a fuck around i dont need. As soon as we move in though its game on lol :-D

Stoney my man! Good to see you bro and cheers for the great compliment! I tried to keep the canopy as even as possible this time, she did ok but no where near the perfect canopies of your girls bro!!
How's your little breeding project going? Having any good results?

As for me dropping down bro, i just have no need for massive amounts of weed. Id love to grow warehouses full if it were legal but there is no point when its just me and my missus smoking it. Its always been about quality over quantity for me man and cheers for the compliment again, Im pretty sure i can get at least 0.5g/w under the 250 ;)

Thanks bro! The feminized seed project is coming along. I am having some mixed results, some pollen working better
than others. The OG seeded great along with the White Widow. Still holding out hope that the Liberty and Holy Grail will
start to swell and show pollenation.

Good to hear at least some are working well bro! Ive had some not take too well as well, they eventually do though and to be honest, the fattest, darkest seeds came from those plants and i only ended up with a few beans off them :) they'll be right mate!

Yeah bro, it should make me some nice bubble hey :)
And yeah man, next run will be interesting. The bodhi strains im running are dream lotus, dream beaver and synergy so really looking forward to them. The blue shiva is also one of mine too, i grew out a couple in soil and wow she was awesome so hoping i can find that pheno again and see her bloom in hempy :)
Oh no man that sucks balls hey, i bet you are spewing :(

Great news on the house though mate, congratulations to you and your missus! One less stress for you to worry about :-D

Did you see the chop pics mate? On the page before this..
I plan on ordering the Dream Beaver and White Lotus packs from Bodhi here in the next couple of weeks.

Guys I know its pretty simple but i have no idea on how to set up a self watering set up for plants. What do I need ? I know a DIY set up is much better since you can replace everything at low cost and tweak everything as well. I think stoney had a "how to start with perlite journal".. Does it exist :D ?

What do you mean by self watering mate? Like fill up a 50 gal drum and drip feed or electronic? Is this for indoor or outdoor?
If its for indoor its pretty easy but depends what setup you want to use.
Stoney uses hempy buckets so a hole is drilled about 1.5-2 inches up from the bottom of the bucket and covered with somethng plastic that will let the overflowing nutes out. The bucket is filled with perlite or whatever medium you want. You generally water them every 2-3 days or when they feel dry.
My system is a little more involved. I have a res that is filled up once a week and it feeds my plant every 3 hours for 15 mins and recirculates back to the res. The res gets cleaned and the plant flushed with fresh water every week. A lot more time consuming than hempy, hence why im moving to hempy for my next grow :)

Its for indoor. All I want is not to have to move every plant in order to water or feed. Also it would save s lot of time and especially inside a tent . Which way is the simplest to do that ? Stoneys seems easy enough . I'll probably have smart pots.. Do you think it will affect it ? I'll master soil first then move to perlite. Also this is what I'm planning to do when I move out to a new house..not right now, but I have to start somewhere.. :D.. You guys are definitely getting results and a system that will save time is exactly what I need .._!!

Ah sweet man, yeah hempy is the easiest id say.
For now though, you can just set up a res with a pump and one hose that has sprinklers attached. If you do a timed run to work out how much water comes out, then set it on a digi timer to water every second day :)

I actually place my hole about 5" up in a 5gal bucket and fill the bottom up to the top of the hole with growstones and then the rest with about 50/50 growstones/coco. Every 5 days I flush with water and then replace the nutrients. I considered putting an airstone in the bottom as well, however I held off on that to see what kind of results I got with just the growstones. So far, I haven't seen any issues and the plants seem to be getting big and healthy - but I still plan on trying this just to see if there is any improvement. I have a few in straight growstones (sized like perlite) and it has also yielded nice results. However, I have noticed that by adding the coco in the upper 2/3(ish) I see them get going faster as there is more retention of nutrients around the roots when they have just been transplanted and don't have them stretching to the bottom yet. I have to flush and feed them a lot more frequently when it is just straight stones since they don't seem to wick all that much, but hold a ton of air - so the coco seems to add enough retention to bring the nutes up to the smaller plants early on.

I really didn't have any "training" in this method (ha ha), so, do you see any issues with having that much solution at the bottom of the bucket?

Dude that sounds like a good idea having the coco, younger plants would enjoy having nutes at hand early on. I may have to do an experiment with my next grow and do a few different mediums :)
You grow some dank buds man, whatever you're doing, you're definitely winning :-D

That's very true mate. I've watched many videos-threads using a coco-perlite mix. Dutch ,Canada.. I need the space and time to try and experiment with this.. But man..it will worth it !
