Anyone use a closed loop system here?

I'd love to learn more about closed loop systems, what people's experiences are, what system you are using and if your usin n-butane or just filled it with several cans of vector?

I have a great vacuum oven and at some point would like to either pick up a closed loop or maybe just partner up with someone that has one that would extract and I could purge?

Check-out wolfworx and redbeard. There are definitely people operating loops around here. Your best bet for knowledge is to wheel over to the concentrates thread and ask specific questions.

Once 5104 passes, I can build Mark II through Mark V terps for everyone who wants one, but really, building your own isn't all that tough. It helps you appreciate it more if you build it yourself. All you need is a competent fab shop with a TIG welder. Heck glacier tank is selling some stuff partially pre fabbed for terpenator construction.

Wouldn't waste my dough on a tamisium, especially if you like keeping your money and not spending your life waiting to recover butane...

MKIII Terpenator should be shipped this week. They are waiting on parts, I believe.
It comes with a 73 gram column, and I got an optional 450 gram column as well.
I also upgraded to the stainless steel hoses w/brass quick connects.

Just over $4k so far for my closed loop system. I can't imagine I have everything needed either.
Purge oven is going to cost almost at much. (AI 1.9 w/9.5 cfm pump and various other bells & whistles looking like $3700, haven't ordered that yet)

Holy fucking science degrees is this a little more complicated that I was expecting.
Hair on my head is gonna catch fire with all the thinking we have to do. lmao.
It is a pretty cool setup, but 3x the cost and 3x the confusion I was expecting.
So now I see why there aren't more of these going in Michigan.
I am figuring this shit out at a good clip though.

And never had a response from wolfwurx on the cold trap.

Cold traps are easy. Do you know someone that can weld stainless?

All you need is a 6-12" x 4" dia spool, two end caps, two 1/4" npt couplers, and a 1/4" down tube. I put molecular sieve in mine and keep it in a bucket of cool water to help trap more moisture.
