I'd rather say so many zips per plant after so many weeks in veg. Thats a bit more accurate.

You can put your lady in 3 gallons of soil but if you give it one week veg it sure won't produce 3 zips for the 3 gallons.

Through experience I have learnt that ROOT MASS is whats essential. The root is the heart of the plant. If you have a good root mass then you can prune, mainline and anything else. It will spring up in a day or two cause the plant has a good root mass or in human terms a good strong heart.
 
Mine is in a 14 litre pot. Here are some pics from week 2 of flower i have to update to current pics today. But i am super impressed with this technique.

I pruned her last night and she has stretched a bit more sionce this pic was taken.

I might as well use the best for maximum yield since i have a small garden. I was using boost but was told BudXL is better and you use less and is cost effective. Also something about the owner of house and garden working for canna.

Here is my girl at 3 and a bit weeks flowering.

This strain is a fast finisher and high yielding. I have grown it a few times before and it gave me a decent yield in the space i grew it in. While not a massive plant i am pleased with how it turned out..what i love the most about mainline that makes sense is the perfect symmetry of all the colas and the way energy is distributed evenly amongst them all. All of them are same size in height and width. 13 inches all of them.

I did trim her last night to get rid of some of the fluff that i left as i was unsure how much to prune. Then i feed her and noticed over night the buds got a bit fatter.

They look very symmetrical. Beauties!

Regarding soil and fertilisers I have a different view. Though Canna is the best and if you can afford it buy it, I use Maxyield Coco grow. Its far cheaper and it has the most important properties and that's coco fibre for good water retention, perlite for aeration, and worm castings for fertliser. Of course a plant living in a 3 gallon container for 3 months will want far more goodness than just Maxyield so I keep it simple and stupid by giving Cocogrow for veg and Cocobloom for flowering stage and thats all it needs as regards to nutrients. The aeration is important obviously.

I used to use the whole shit and caboodle - wiltguard, and all the other additives Maxyield had. But I have found no difference at all in my ladies.The important thing is LIGHT man. Good lighting. They have to be about 35kLux for veg and 55k for flower. I bought a light meter for that - not that you have to - just keep them 8 to 10 inches away and you'll be right.

But there's one nutrient I think I could make use of. And thats something to encourage and speed up big healthy roots. The roots are the heart of the plant andthe bigger and stronger the roots are then the bigger and healthier the plant will be.

The way I think is:
1. Organic soil not too expensive. Must have aeration (perlite), cocfibre for water retention,and a bit of fertiliser (worm cncastings if possible)
2. Veg fertiliser andBloom for flowering
3. Root enhancer in liquid form.
4. VERY GOOD LIGHT. Bud amount is very very relative to light.

I made a mistake in the post #4263 from the other day. I stated in error that the WW plant was 16 inches from the soil line but she is actually only 10 inches from the soil line, and from the longest point bud to bud she is 27" wide.
I wish I had started spreading her sooner in her veg, had I been vegging her for flower I would have done so, but I was vegging her for clones. I decided to flower her because I did not want to take a chance of keeping her alive during the summer, in this heat. I had just been pinching her back to get bud sites for a fall SOG grow. On 3/17 I made the decision. So actually I only really started spreading her at the start of flower,
I know it's going to hurt me weight wise but was not much I could do with her when she went into the flower cabinet with the her mom and 2 Ice plants that were main-lined on and on day 29 of 12/12. I was only able to spread her good on 4/20 when I harvested the other ladies.

The 27 inch spread in this picture is from about the 5 o'clock to the 11 o'clock position.

You can see the tallest point here. The tallest bud nearest the center of the picture is ten inches from the top of my Hempy bucket mix. She is really a nice looking lady.

I am loving the way the but sites or fattening up and beginning to feel thick. I am think 6 to 10 days unless I see a number of trichomes start to turn amber then I will go ahead and harvest her.

A question on lighting!

4 plants in a 1.2 by 1.2metre tent. Why is it that the two at the back are ALWAYS taller than the ones at the front? I have tried everything, at the end I bought a lux meter and I can see the light distribution is not even.

I have a 600W HPS and and adjust-a-wings shade. I have moved the light forwards, backwards and to no great success. Instead I have to rotate from back to front but you have to do it probably every 2 days!

What is the best position to put your 600W light in a 1.2 metre tent? Cause it just drives me crazy!
