Article of Impreachment

Some PUB droid said today that Nixon was charged with abuse of power with the IRS. What??? Don't remember that one. So I looked it up.

The means used to implement this course of conduct or plan included one or more of the following:

  1. making false or misleading statements to lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States;
  2. withholding relevant and material evidence or information from lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States;
  3. approving, condoning, acquiescing in, and counselling witnesses with respect to the giving of false or misleading statements to lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States and false or misleading testimony in duly instituted judicial and congressional proceedings;
  4. interfering or endeavouring to interfere with the conduct of investigations by the Department of Justice of the United States, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the office of Watergate Special Prosecution Force, and Congressional Committees;
  5. approving, condoning, and acquiescing in, the surreptitious payment of substantial sums of money for the purpose of obtaining the silence or influencing the testimony of witnesses, potential witnesses or individuals who participated in such unlawful entry and other illegal activities;
  6. endeavouring to misuse the Central Intelligence Agency, an agency of the United States;
  7. disseminating information received from officers of the Department of Justice of the United States to subjects of investigations conducted by lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States, for the purpose of aiding and assisting such subjects in their attempts to avoid criminal liability;
  8. making or causing to be made false or misleading public statements for the purpose of deceiving the people of the United States into believing that a thorough and complete investigation had been conducted with respect to allegations of misconduct on the part of personnel of the executive branch of the United States and personnel of the Committee for the Re-election of the President, and that there was no involvement of such personnel in such misconduct: or
  9. endeavouring to cause prospective defendants, and individuals duly tried and convicted, to expect favoured treatment and consideration in return for their silence or false testimony, or rewarding individuals for their silence or false testimony.
In all of this, Richard M. Nixon has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.

I never heard of this either, but I was also 6 years old when Nixon left office.
After reading all 9 counts, Nixons name could be replaced with Obama and we would never know the difference.

And here is a draft for Articles against Obama. I don't even think 2.2.K makes a bit of sense. And it is the most sensible....not.

K. Having the Secretary of State sign the U.N. Small Arms Treaty despite the opposition of a majority of the U.S. Senate and with full awareness that the implementation of the treaty would violate the Second Amendment rights of American citizens.

I think that is right. Certainly the clap trap I posted from the Lawyer is stupid and none of those are beyond Presidential power, executive order, etc.

But, misuse of the IRS is the same that Nixon misused the CIA....to get re-elected.

It is all in the proof and it all takes a lot of votes to get it going. It really takes an Independent Council.

Agreed, it will take an independent council to get to the truth.
But that takes public pressure, to get public pressure, the media needs to be the pulpit.

See, I think this is the point. I don't want to Impeach the first Black Guy. As long as he plays fast and loose he can't be Impeached.

He knows that. But, if a big fuck up is uncovered, skin tone doesn't matter in the USA, does it? Not legally. And you wait.

Lerner can get a Pardon before any charges. Ford set that up with Nixon.

is Nixon still alive....?
you lefties are so duplicitous.

clinton was impeached on the sex bullshit because hillary and the dems covered up the serious wrongdoing so thoroughly

hill-dawg was a staffer in the nixon impeachment and famously asserted that Any president who lies to the american people for any reason should be impeached, but she is a notorious liar.

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/04/shocking_revelations_about_hil.html

if nixon could be impeached for illegally subverting investigations, misusing government agents, engaging in spying on political adversaries, and lying to congress, then bubba clinton, AND barry seotoro should be run out of town on a rail.

nixon's misdeeds were minor compared to the nefarious horseshit democrats get up to when they have power.

You could be right, but I am seeing a slight shift in the political climate in DC.
Democrats may end around this scandal for the mid terms, as time will run out by then, but the people have very little empathy for the IRS, I just don't see this going away.

Well, Issa said they are done if she won't testify. So, that stuff I learned long ago is exactly the opposite of what they intend. It doesn't matter what the issue, if they say they don't that means they do. If the President says he shall make Putin pay, he won't.

It doesn't matter what the issue or the President or Admin, or Congress Control Party, they all do this. The best Political lie is the opposite. Exact opposite. Many, many reasons the lies can't go in random directions. So, Lies can be decoded by the 180 degree rule.

It has worked for me since Carter.

of course lies are 180 degrees off truth.
only real pathological nutcases like bucky bother to lie about minor divergences or picayune details.

when picking up chicks, what dude is gonna say "i drive a mercedes" when he in fact drives a BMW or a Bentley. in such cases, the truth serves just as well or better than a lie.

likewise, when accused of taking bribes from the mob, what politician will say "i didnt take any bribes! that money comes from my embezzlement!" so they simply claim it's a conspiracy, a setup, or that the money was a gift from grateful constituents. (see Alcee Hastings, impeached from the federal bench for taking mob bribes, now a long term democrat congressional incumbent)

Yeah, at the pathologically level, one has no interest in keeping it straight, will lie in all directions with no regard for covering tracks.

No thought is given about getting caught and certainly no care is wasted. Another lie is right behind. Political lies have purpose, and even sociopaths strive to be liked. That's the joyful, fake out, for them.

But, the with the pseudologia fantastica, striving not to be liked is the main pathology, indication.
