I see all the debate and since I'm
not debating flushing I went ahead
and made a seperate thread.
I get that flushing amended soil
will still leave slow release nutes
onboard.
I usually just cut back the feeding
and stop feeding in the last few weeks.
Here is the question.
If one were hell bent on flushing
couldnt you just ph up or down
causing the nutes to be locked out
while allowing the plant to consume
the residule?
Im beginning to think this is why
my grandfather swore by
boiling the rootball and hanging the
entire plant upside down.
He understood the plant would continue
to live and consume for a while.
I think you could just as easily
pour boiling water directly into the soil
Then let the plant slowly die
giving you a head start on the cure.
Maybe he hung them so gravity would assist in keeping it alive a tad longer
Grandpa was a smart guy and a good breeder so I have to think he had his reasons.
People also think the dark period is useful for resin production.
He was killing all these birds by
boiling roots and hanging the plants in
a cool dry place to dry.
Note I did not say he was trying
to get thc from the roots.
But I think people have lost or mixed
up information that was passed down
in a crazy game of stoned telephone.
Anyway
In nature plants don't live in plastic buckets but at my house they do or they get the f**k out!
