Do You Believe In Life After Birth?

In the belly of a pregnant woman, two babies are having a political discussion about abortion. One of them is a Pro-life and the other is Pro-choice.

Pro-choice
Do you believe in life after birth?

Pro-life
Of course I do. Everybody knows there is life after birth. We are here in order to grow strong enough and prepared for what awaits us after it.

Pro-choice
Nonsense! There can’t be life after birth! Can you imagine how this life would be?

Pro-life
I don’t know all the details, but I believe there’s more light, and maybe we will walk and feed ourselves there.

Pro-choice
Rubbish! It’s impossible to walk and feed ourselves! Ridiculous! We have the umbilical cord that feeds us. I just want to point this out to you: Life after birth can’t exist because our life, the cord, is already too short.

Pro-life
I am sure it’s possible. It will be just a little different. I can envision it.

Pro-choice
But there is nobody who has ever returned from it! Life simply ends with birth. And frankly, life is just one big suffering in the dark.

Pro-life
No, no! I don’t know how life after birth will be exactly, but in any case, we will meet our mother and she will take care of us!

Pro-choice
Mother? You think we have a mother? So, where is she then?

Pro-life
She is everywhere around us, and we are in her! We move because of her and thanks to her, we move and live! Without her, we wouldn’t exist.

Pro-choice
Baloney! I haven’t seen any such mother; hence, there is none.

Pro-life
I can’t agree with you. In fact, sometimes, when everything calms down, we can hear her sing and feel how she caresses our world. I strongly believe that our real life will begin only after birth.

And what about you, dear RIU members?

Happy New Year...and a little story about life after birth
December 31, 2012 at 7:08pm
Two baby twins are inside a mother's womb.

One asks the other:

- Do you believe in life after birth?

- Yes, sure. There must be something after birth. Maybe we are here because we should prepare for what we will be after that moment.

- Nonsense! There is no life after birth. How do you suppose it to be?

- I don't know for sure... there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk by our feet and will feed by our mouth.

- This is such an absurdity! Walking is impossible. And eating by the mouth? Simply ridiculous. We feed by the umbilical cord. I tell you: life after birth is inconceivable. The umbilical cord is just too short.

- And yet I believe that there should be something, even if it will be different somehow to what we are accustomed to.

- But nobody has ever come back from the hereafter. Birth is the end of life. And what is life all about? Only a sad existence in the darkness, leading to nowhere.

- Well, I don't know exactly how it will be after birth, but I'm sure that we will see the mom, and she will take care of us.

- Mom? Do you believe in the mom? Where do you think she is?

- Where? She is all around us! We live through her. Without her all this world would not exist.

- Well, I cannot believe it! I never saw a mom, therefore the logic says she doesn't exist.

- Right, but sometimes, when we are in silence, you can hear her singing or feel her caressing our world. You know, I think there's a real life waiting for us and now we are only preparing for that...

Nice try, but who did he get it from? He got it from a thought experiment that's at least 2,400 years old. I won't give rep on this just because you can google the title of the poem/play.

what a horrible thread.

Is it as horrible as the ones you announce your hatred for black people on?

black people are just inherently stupid, rather than simply handicapped by centuries of persecution in this nation.
let's send the blacks back to africa
Its not hard to see why you think this thread is stupid given your beliefs that unwanted peoples should be killed in the womb.....

It is not a huge stretch from aborting the unwanted unborn to ending the lives of the unwanted living. It is simply getting people with this sort of mindset
to rationalize the acceptance of a narrower spectrum of what constitutes life.
Will I be invited to your white supremacy invitation only discussions here at RIU?

I hope so, I beleive I can help you....here is a digi-hug big feller, no need to drink yourself to oblivion like you did last night, we are all here for you, let your hate go.

I think there is none. religion is contingent on god but not the other way around.
I think that religion being contingent on, or in any way connected to, God is incorrect. The constructions used to support that claim are fallacious. I submit the idea that the two don't correlate.
