Upside Down American Flag and What it means

Are you gonna hold me accountable for Ramesses and other Pharaohs ? Why cry about America`s horrors and leave out the thousands of years before it even existed ? Cry for the world, not the few.

The last time the world was attacked by conquer and keep, they were one season away from success. The world restarted in 1945. Like it or not the US flag and those who died for it, saved the world from unimaginable atrocities and you got a bone up yours about Wounded Knee and Little Big Horn ? The US put and end to it and wont let it happen again.

You wanna bitch, go to Yemen and Somalia or Oman today, real time, right now and beat your F`n chest at them Tarzan.
Oh so you're glazing over the 1970s. Wounded Knee 1975, Bush Seniors as head of the Cia and the forced sterilization of women. That''s cool. I wont bring up Kinzua Dam then either. I won't bring up broken treaties and the Onondaga's threaten to block a major highway again twice in the last twenty years because of imperialistic policies. How the signature of George Washington means nothing on the Treaty of Canadaigua that ensured Native rights to hunt and fish on whatever land they want without license. Look past the books you are issued, Thomas Jefferson used debt as a tool of ceding land and was the architect of the indian removal act.

The thing about it is. This is America, land of a thousand guilts. People on reservations have more right to fly a flag upside down than any redneck sporting a confederate flag.

Most of the credit for WWII should go to all the other allied countries involved. US textbooks tend to exaggerate the role we played. IMO we entered the war much too late, and the brunt of the fighting was received by Russia and the western nations of Europe.

What you are doing should be considered and is technically illegal. That is not just a F`n piece of cloth, and I F`n hate people who do it as a commodity !i
I'm not doing it as a commodity, I truly believe the military should take action in the drug war, but on part of the people.

Section 8a United States Flag code.

The only acceptable answer from him is if it is dirty/bloodstained and requesting replacement. He is not doing that and not in distress.
It is not for replacement, it is a request of assistance for the people under the flag. Not the flag itself.

Here is 4 USC §8 (a) verbatim. "In distress" is correct; "under duress" means something else.
Under duress would mean pirates had taken control or you were being forced into something. I read duress, so I am saying duress.

And America is a merchant ship nation, so it makes sense.

Wups! forgot to add the text of 8 (a).

(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
This is the same one I read, but it said duress.

Yeah duress means you are being forced into something, so by what you were describing in the video it fit better than distress.

You had bad text then.

"In jurisprudence, duress or coercion refers to a situation whereby a person performs an act as a result of violence, threat or other pressure against the person."
Either way, duress is just a specific form of distress.

Yep, the US flag code stipulates that the Union symbol on the bottom is a signal for distress. But an upside down flag is a universal symbol for "duress".

How do you guys feel about the fact that the supreme court ruled desecration of a US flag as protected under free speech?

Then that is where the miscommunication is.

Have you seen the episode of Futurama where Zoidburg gets in trouble for eating a flag, but then saves the planet by burning the flag?

I think that explains desecration pretty well. Seeing a destroyed flag is supposed to make us proud anyways, we are American.

I got Black's law a few days ago, and I want to share full ideas so I will have to get at least a quarter of the way through before I get into what I have underlined in there, but...

I got a Latin legal dictionary in the mail today, and OH MY FUCKING GOD. I am reading legal Maxims, and there are 1000 in here. I have only read 20, but every time I read the next one, it blows my mind that all lawyers know this and "can't help us".

Videos will start tomorrow for these.

Plains mountain, or costal ....Mohawk, Sioux, Apache, Chinook, Pawnee .... All had wars.

Those who don`t love the USA, are free to leave,......So why don`t they ? People Migrate here, ...not China or Brazil for reasons I believe you know too.

The flag is all we have to point at and have in common for all. The flag itself gives you the right to harm it and me to protect it.

If pirates have taken control, You aint flying your flag at all. I see you got my point and convinced yourself you have an excuse. What you are doing is wrong.... any way you look at it and getting attacked for it is also excusable. That is not your only recourse. Deal with it and don`t cry about being E-foo abused for it

No, those countries were loosing and royally too. The British lasted five minutes in the Pacific Sea wars. We did that solo and it was half the war. Europe would have lost without our supplies and later war machine. So to the victor went the spoils and why the world is what it is today. We asked not even for anything in return. Because we were next.
