i believe in florida you can get 15 years for it.

but meh, i'm happy
Yeah I dunno, round here you usually get a slap on the wrist and probation.

You don't really sound that happy, I mean its been over for some time now. people aren't even rioting. But you are the most vocal antagonist to Zimmerman on the forum.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-george-zimmerman-trial-juror-chicago-20130725,0,4361149.story

A juror in the George Zimmerman trial who had recently moved to Florida from Chicago said today that Zimmerman "got away with murder" for killing Trayvon Martin and feels she owes an apology to Martin's parents.

"You can't put the man in jail even though in our hearts we felt he was guilty," the woman, identified only as Juror B29 during the trial, told ABC's "Good Morning America. "We had to grab our hearts and put it aside and look at the evidence."

"George Zimmerman got away with murder, but you can't get away from God. And at the end of the day, he's going to have a lot of questions and answers he has to deal with," Maddy told the show.

When the jury began deliberations, Maddy said she favored convicting Zimmerman of second-degree murder, which could have put him in prison for the rest of his life. The jury was also allowed to consider manslaughter, a lesser charge. "I was the juror that was going to give them the hung jury. I fought to the end," she said.

But on the second day of deliberations, Maddy said she realized there wasn't enough proof to convict Zimmerman of murder or manslaughter under Florida law.
This is why I predicted a hung jury. I figured there would be at least one sappy moron on the jury. Just look at RIU, there are multiple sappy morons who post "Trayvon was murdered" continuously despite the evidence.

The fact that she voted "not guilty" tells you that her initial 'feelings' weren't convincing, even to herself.

she was one of three jurors who wanted zimm gone on manslaughter.

zimmy's really lucky that florida law is as lenient as it is, he would have gone away for a long time in most other states in the union.
Zimmerman would have walked in any place that offers a fair trial. In a brain-dead liberal enclave, he might have been convicted, just like the jim crow south use to convict black men of "crimes" where the only evidence was that their race displeased the jury.

The fact that you think convicting an innocent person of a crime makes you look enlightened is pretty comical.

I like when people bitch about unfair trials...then complain when Zimmy wasn't sent away. It seems some people want to pick and choose who gets sent away unfairly, without proper evidence.

I know. I wonder who is more likely to be improperly imprisoned based on the standard of "in my heart..."? Buck, any guesses?

I don't listen to you. You're a rude bitch who thinks those with autism are faking it and could be normal like you if they tried. If normal means being you, I'd rather be a freak.
if you wanted to be normal like him you'd have to chop your legs off... just saying...

In 1995, race relations were set back 20 years after white people witnessed the celebratory reactions of black Americans to the OJ verdict.

Black folks reactions to this travesty still makes me want to vomit. And the real kick in the balls is that if you ask almost any black person today, they will admit they believed him to be guilty all along.

OMFG there are no words for the hypocrisy in this post.the jurors of the OJ case also believed him to be guilty, but said the state did not meet its burden. exact same story in the zimmerman case.how do you suppose black people felt watching the celebratory reactions of asshats like desert dud to this travesty?you don't suppose that the precedent of shooting innocent black kids and getting away with it might set back race relations a tad as well, sweetheart?what a fucking post. just disgusting.

Zimmerman acted in self defense when attacked by a wannabe gang member thug...good riddance...thank you George for shooting and for a well-placed shot...right through the heart of a future hard criminal thug... Black or white, the Trayvon Martins of this world are worthless...wondering around in strange neighborhoods high on drugs... His father left him...ran out on his mother who is now left to fend for herself...yet the father still tried to call his son "Baby Tray"? What an opportunist...

6 Jurors entered deliberations with 3 Not Guilty, 2 Manslaughter and 1 Murder 2..in those 16 hours of deliberations, what changed? Surely not the evidence. How do you go from sitting in court for 3 weeks listening to witnesses, evidence and forming an opinion of Murder 2 only to go with NOT guilty? She obviously got talked into it.

Your chart is cute, but it doesn't distinguish between white people who killed black people while the blacks were trying to carjack them or break into their house or something. That would be worthwhile to know.

the instructions for finding a verdict are the last thing they go over. based on the presentation of the case, they certainly heard what they needed to hear. but they had to follow a shitty law, and they did.

if there is just a tiny little doubt that zimm shot because he had to (unlikely) instead of because he wanted to (completely likely), then they have to let him walk. it's the law.

Maybe I missed it, I did not hear her reference that. It was Friday night and that juror whose husband is an attorney probably wanted to go home and pressured her. "Maddy" seems as if she'd be intimidated easily by someone like that. Throw the others into the mix and you got yourself a very uncomfortable situation..she caved.

I'll have to listen to her interview again.

whether she was pressured or not, she did what the law told her she had to do.

unless the prosecution made a more convincing case that there was no way to grab the gun and shoot until after the danger had passed, then a reasonable doubt for self defense was there.

keep in mind, the jury had no idea what a busybody zimmy was, and how he was prone to getting way too involved, getting violent, letting his temper 'snap' and get the best of him, beating women, beating cops...the jury had no idea of any of this.

hell, if i was on the jury, i might have had to do the same thing. i don't envy those jurors.
